I actually like Annalie a lot so I don’t mind this at all, I think it’s cool to see the game continued to be updating!

I'm a bit surprised the polls weren't gotten rid of sooner. The aggression in the comments during the polls, especially ever since Annalie first went on them, was bad enough that I just stopped participating after a certain point. I also feel like they limit creative freedom to an extent with the idea that an option on the poll simply won't happen if the whims of the players don't choose it. If yall ever end up making another game or decide to run polls again I would recommend instead of it being a "pick what goes in" yall should make it a "pick what we prioritize next" instead. That way there's no sense of "if this isn't voted it'll never happen" or anger in the community over something as it's likely already set in stone and they can cope with it or move on. Only real polls that I could foresee being truly viable as a "is this going in the game or not" would be divisive things like NTR assuming they aren't already part of the creative vision. It's good to get player feedback but sometimes the best thing to do is just tell the players "this is happening" rather than ask if it should.

I only discovered the game on Itch a few days ago and it was so well done I decided I wanted to support the devs. I'm totally late to the party since I only just subbed, but reading about the threats in response to the poll months after it occurred just breaks my heart. Regardless of what happens, keep it up devs; y'all have done great work so far.

I'm sure a super fan of the game would call me fake for not immediately exploding at the idea, but even the most egregious distaste for such a feature should be displaced when it's mentioned to be optional, let alone us having no idea how it would be implemented and how it would affect the story. It feels like people looking for a reason to get mad since they didn't even wait for an explanation. It really shouldn't have been this big of a deal. Maybe you should do smaller bugfix/QOL polls where they have 3-5 items, and voting is Schulze method. Schulze method would help you figure out which order to implement these. I like voting on things, and your polls made me think about what single-winner method could make the audience happier. I have no idea how you'd go about implementing it though.

Ah, the joys of being beholden to customers...except the customer is gooners who haven't touched grass in a long time. I think people might have gotten the wrong idea from polls after being used to getting things implemented based on voter interest. They'll cool off soon after enough time in the timeout corner with no polls. And the ones who stay mad can fuck right off. Removing polls feels like it might be the better move in the long run if it makes it easier to make the game you WANT to make, rather than the game you feel like you HAVE to make. This is why you guys need to work on your communications and decision making skills. Having "Marry June" as an option, and not include it by default was incredibly stupid. You guys should have expected "annalie sex" to be controversial, especially for 1.0 release. Therefore should have spend extra time and care to explain this option properly... You will also find people who gets obsessed with the game, and when it's crowdfunded. It's even more unavoidable. You will always find these freaks doing these extreme stuff. Im incredibly disappointed how poorly people reacted to the poll. And so sorry you had to deal with this. I understand the decision to no longer use them. I can't imagine being upset by something I dislike winning. I never even considered the potential for the annalie sex option being viewed poorly. Always assumed it would end up being an optional scene and not done as a cheating type thing. I figured It would be a communicated or agreed situation or something. I'm surprised more folks didn't have that same assumption. I dont get why they all assumed the worst possible outcomes.

This entire thing is super disappointing to hear to be honest. I almost never post my thoughts or opinions online because I rarely see the value in it these days, but as someone who spends my money each month to support this project, and who quietly voted in this poll, I feel like I have a few things I would like to share. I think it's disappointing to remove voting, which essentially punishes the many reasonable fans like me, due to the actions of a few galvanized community members and deranged twitter users who likely don't even support the game here on patreon. I also think it's disappointing that by the tone of this post it almost seems like the Annalie content will likely be, almost begrudgingly hidden behind so much red tape and negative in-game interaction that it will almost be treated as a "you got what you asked for" bad ending. My guess is it will be a route in which Jun is lost entirely. All in all, I do want to apologize to the dev on behalf of the people acting horrible, I've always felt you've been a stand out dev in such a predatory market that you really don't deserve it and I wouldn't blame you if you we're less likely to interact with the community or announce the polls moving forward, if you decide to stick with them. But I don't agree with punishing the likely hundreds of members like me who just want to silently contribute to the direction the game goes by essentially removing their only voice and meaningful form of feedback. Question. Given that Marry Jun and House wife Jun had a good score, is it likely that they will both be added in the future? I'm sure that absolutely all players would like that, without a doubt. Also, Although Doggystyle Fix didn't get much score, I believe it was due to a greater weight in other options, but I don't think the community will be against it.

I'll be frank, I've been a patron for a while now and the community used to be rather chill but things changed I guess. I'm the weirdo who was really looking forward to the tit-fucking and tried to re-submit it and I'm kinda sad it might not end up being implemented, but by no means am I ever going to send threats or anything like that, that is waaaay past the line. Hey, the people voted for it, so obviously a lot of people want it, there's no reason for everyone to get mad at what was voted for the most in a community driven forum.

I only see this kind of behavior on crowdfunded projects. Even more so on crowdfunded H game project. People quickly become entitled. Probably because they don't want the game they paid for for so long become something they don't like in the end. Or yeah, parasocial relationships. Probably both.

[A comment on the whole situation to share my thoughts/feedback, not an attack or hate] Even in the best case scenario (a wholesome Annalie side story with someone other than Anon or Jun), this poll was still a huge disappointment in the community for me. Both the votes and the behaviour of some people. I'll go into the former first and then into the latter. The development resources would've been far better used on pretty much any of the other options, especially the rest of the top 5 or 6. Hell, I'd genuinely rather pay for the devs to just go and take a vacation instead of developing the game for a while. Especially after they've been through all this mess recently. They deserve some rest. All the wholesome options and especially MARRIAGE (I'm using caps for emphasis, not aggression) of all things should've won by far. That was THE option to vote for, which would further prove just how amazing and unique both the game and its community are. Especially for THE 1.0 update, a huge milestone and not just any random sidestory update. This was the obvious and correct option for so many reasons, it fit perfectly. But it lost. Marriage losing would've been a lot less tragic if it wasn't THE 1.0 update. It was THE moment for the titular character to get a huge and amazing development that would fit this great milestone in the game's development. Not for a side chick story just to appease the horny masses. Sane minds were not able to save us like they did last year. At one of the most important times. Hell, even the niche fetishes would've been a better use of time and money because at least they could broaden the audience that would discover this absolutely amazing game thanks to their inclusion. Polls themselves aren't necessarily an issue imo. The mistake was including such a highly controversial option in them in the first place (I do not want to blame the poor devs, but this is just my genuine thoughts in what greately contributed to this mess happening at this specific time). ESPECIALLY for the 1.0 update of all things, a huge milestone that should've been universally celebrated by everyone with a huge development for THE Dystopian Robot Girlfriend (not some side character quest). That is the only mistake in terms of management in my opinion. And I am confident that the bad option would not win if there was something like "Higher tiers can vote against a single option if they they really don't want to see in the game". Sending death threats, harassment and other vile things are unacceptable. And anyone who did that should get the hell away from the community. However, it is also important to provide honest feedback, both positive and negative. Criticism, even if harsh, is an entirely different thing from death threats. If you really dislike something, explain why you don't like it instead of grabbing torches and pitchforks.This should be obvious. I love the story, characters, mini games and customisation for Jun. And i really don't care soo much about nsfw part. I would say that become more dialogue options is more preferable than nsfw scene. This post just solidified my expectations with the sex scene being optional. Now that polls are going away all those people who got mad have no choice in the future. It just sucks that a vocal group of degenerates had to ruin it for the rest. There will more some more updates after 1.0 but I will always hope for more or I hope to see you make a new game just as good as this one.

I thought the same of many comments left on the poll and poll updates, some people were incredibly rude, over the top and parasocial, and stopping the polls is a natural reaction to them. I'm glad you'll be doing what's best for you and calling it out, and the people that actually support you and care for this as a passion project will understand!

So sorry that the polls created as a way to connect to your community and give them a voice turned so toxic. If you don't like part of a branching narrative story, don't play that part. And certainly respect and appreciate the Devs putting time in to make the game and hear your voice, and the people that may have differing opinions to you.

I see some mistakes of mine, I owe my apologies regarding some of my presumptions (even though I didn't think the game would self-destruct LOL). To be sure, polls are useful, but in fact, I've seen a few scary things here and there because of it. In my conception, the best option is almost always to allow developers to work for themselves, listening only to suggestions from the public, no more than that. I support your decision.

Love the game for it's multiple mechanics and storyline. Each new update or new phone I replace I've manage to re-download this game to do it all over again. This is one of the very few games I don't mind starting over. Continue on doing what's best!
