Progress report of the new update and the release date

Let's get straight to the point. We did our best and the update is very close, but we need a little more time to finish things up. We will start early Patreon testing around 14th of February and the update will be released to all the Patrons a couple of days after that.

If you aren't happy with this please send me a message and I will give you a refund, because we didn't deliver what we promised.

Progress report

Now for the real progress report showing some of the new things. Let's start with the most controversial one.

The landlord

Landlord's sprite was the last character done by the previous artist. I wanted to change him for a long time, because he's one of the first things a new player sees. Despite his charm, he stood out a lot and very likely threw off some people. The new sprite doesn't change his design, but is done by the current artist (Sixie) and fits a lot better. It also includes a few new emotions!

When I announced this in our discord, it raised some controversy, because in the previous post I included a poll about his design. A majority (64% people) voted for the "Landlord is perfect the way he is" option. I do believe most people chose this option jokingly, but well. What do you think about the new landlord? Should I redo the poll?...

Other characters

Mrs. Fisher got her own sprite too!

There's also a new character, who I don't want to spoil just yet. She has been briefly mentioned in the story before, but not explored any further. I wonder if you can figure out who it is :)

UI and QOL

Info about owned items

Many people complained it's hard to tell which items are new in shops. I added a new feature that fixes that. You can now easily see if you own the item. You can even click to browse what items of this type you own. Very useful.

Not skipping previously read text

Game now tracks which story text you've seen and remembers that. Text you've already seen will be coloured slightly differently. This is a pretty basic feature most visual novels have, but MDRG didn't till now. This is especially useful when replaying the game. You will no longer have to guess if something is new. The game will show you!

And as a benefit we can also display what % of the text you've seen.

News and email website

Its design got changed. The text now is also fully localized instead of being baked into a png, so it looks better in other languages.

Shower scene

I don't want to spoil too much, but this scene is a lot better than all other scenes currently in the game. Lack of clothes allowed us to really push the boundaries if it comes to animating. Her ass deforms, jiggles unlike any other scene thus far. Anon is no longer just a floating dick!

I've also improved the code used for animations overall. They are all now a lot smoother. It's hard to show this on a gif though, so you will have to wait till it's out to find out. Previously they were capped at 50 fps and now they run faster if your device can handle that. It looks a lot better. This change works in all the scenes.
