MustardUI 2026.10 - Coming soon!

Hi!

Here is an update on the upcoming new version of MustardUI, which will bring some new features that I hope will be useful for both users and creators.

Note: The screenshots below are not finalized, and things might change before the final release. I will update this post with new stuffs as I find the time to write the modifications I did, so sorry in advance if you will get several update notifications of this post in the following days.

Outfit Import/Export

In the new version you will find a couple new functions:

  • Import Outfit near the Outfits list. This will open a File Browser to import the outfit.

With this you can import any outfit from any other model or simply by selecting any Object when importing.
    - In the first case all the MustardUI settings will be imported (custom properties, etc..).
    - In the second case the UI will try to fit the mesh to the body as best as possible (if requested, no automatic fitting is done by default), import all shape keys and vertex groups from body, and it to MustardUI.

    All the options are customizable.

  • Export Outfit in the Model Toolkit. This will open a File Browser to export the outfits.

Since creators might want to share their outfits in a modular fashion (bundling all of them in a single model has been proven to slow it down considerably: it's a Blender limitation on bi files), they can export their outfits directly into single blend files that then users can import in their base models.
Using this option instead of just giving the outfit mesh, the custom properties and MustardUI settings of the Outfit will be imported when the user import the outfit.

  • Add Outfit in the Model Toolkit.

A generic outfit add tool. It takes the selected meshes in the scene and add them as outfits. Also in this case you can try to automatically fit the outfits to the body, import vertex groups and shape keys, and so on.

Model Toolkit

The model toolkit is now available also to users! Just enable them in the addon settings. :)

A lot of tools are available, which can be used on any model (not only the ones with MustardUI). Just use Quick Setup and then start using the tool to add physics or other features to your preferred models.

Text to Speech

Among some new tools, I will add a text to speech one. See the others on my Twitter account. :)

Note: At the moment the necessary morphs in Hinata and other models are broken, I will fix them and enable the tool on the models in future updates after the MustardUI update.

Bug fixing

In this version and in the previous version I fixed more than 200 annoying bugs, and optimized a lot of tools and panels. For instance, switching Physics or Morphs on/off should be faster!

Also, I fixed a lot of bugs that might lead to issues for creators with custom properties, sections, etc..

Wait, text to speech is actually the biggest addition hands down. A few questions though, will it work on your models only or any daz model? does it require additional face expressions?

It will work for any model that provides standard visemes as morphs or shape keys, not only for daz models. So in principle it can work on any daz model (if the creator imported the visemes), but I tested it also with rigid3d models and it worked fine. :) What it does not at the moment is to set up the morphs for you, i.e. set up the bone movements and prepare the visemes for you. Maybe in future versions, but it's an entirely different - and probably more complex - problem. :)

Wow, that's so cool! So, if I understand correctly, will I be able to transfer clothes even from models that weren't created using MustardUI?

Yes! In the first version there will be the first iteration of the autofitting tool, which worked in the case I tested but might not always get the best results if the body of the two models (receiver and receiving) are very different. But with the feedback I will receive, the goal is to improve it further in future updates.
