Loved it. It's fun to see that an ancient undead is more human than some humans.

First, I want to be clear this is a minor nitpick in an otherwise fantastic chapter. Nothing here broke my enjoyment, but as someone doing a PhD in late antiquity and early Christianity, a few things stuck out. The main issue is that Alanna's arguments don't really fit a Lutheran background. The four that felt off to me: "No devils named in the Bible" This would be almost embarrassing coming from a Lutheran specifically. Luther had an intensely personal relationship with Satan as a real, active force. He famously claimed to have thrown an inkwell at the Devil. This argument would fit a liberal mainline Protestant, not someone from Alanna's tradition. "Old Testament references other gods, so no exclusivity" Lutheran theology reads those references as warnings against idolatry, not evidence of theological pluralism. Luther's Large Catechism addresses this directly in the First Commandment discussion. "Love thy neighbor means no holy war" Luther actually wrote a whole treatise on this (Whether Soldiers Too Can Be Saved). The two kingdoms doctrine is foundational Lutheran theology. A Lutheran would more likely argue Harvey's specific just war criteria aren't met, not that just war is impossible. "Kheltians don't love money so Timothy doesn't apply" Luther was actually pretty harsh about structural wealth and its spiritual dangers. This argument reads more like prosperity gospel, which Lutheranism explicitly rejects. The frustrating thing is Alanna is clearly written as the theologically grounded one, but her arguments sound more like a secular progressive using scripture selectively. A Lutheran engaging Harvey would probably find significant common ground with his framework while pushing back on its specific application to Khelt. That would honestly be a more interesting dynamic. "The None Human salvation question" The non-human salvation question is the bigger missed opportunity though. When Pawn argues Christianity was written for Earth-humans, Harvey's response is essentially "I'm a Prophet so I say you're included." That works narratively but it's a shame because the actual theological answer is right there in the source material. The extension of the gospel to the Gentiles is structurally identical to this problem. Romans 11's image of the wild olive branch being grafted in is practically written for this moment. Harvey deploying Paul against Pawn's challenge would have made him a much more formidable character and shown the author's theological homework paying off. To be fair, Harvey being someone who reconstructed Christianity from imperfect memory does soften a lot of his inconsistencies. But Alanna doesn't have that excuse. Again, loved the chapter overall. Just thought this community might find the theological side interesting to discuss.

Yeah Alanna would definitely fit better as like a Presbyterian or some other mainline Protestant denom

Link worked fine for me. Great finale and thanks for the chapter! Sad to see Fetohep humbled but it’s heartening to see him persevering and the Khelt community discovering how resilient they can be

I know someone might curse me for saying this, but I genuinely think you should take another month long break. I can’t fathom how you could write so much in such a short period of time.
