Stories Poll -- October 2025!
Has it been two months already? Well, well, well. The hour has come again, dear reader. And look what happened last time!
The Halfseekers 'mini-chapters' worked very well. It tired me out and took a month but I am happy with what I wrote. But it was the result of a poll. I have said it before and I say it again: these polls matter.
Now, some readers hate that. They dislike the fact a poll 'forces' the story to go in certain ways. Me? I like polls. I like the fact that I have to write what I promise. I can always refuse or rig polls, but the arbitrary walls that I place are what I push off of to write some of the best chapters.
With that said--this is a main arc poll. I had more options and someone asked me what my top three 'want to write' were, and I thought they would punch hard.

And Ylawes...! I gave him all I had to offer, but the battle is bleak. However, Ylawes Byres doesn't decide who to fight based on if he'll win. I salute our brave [Knight] and wonder which of the two stories you'll pick? Choose wisely, and just like how the Halfseekers arc ended up, remember. The poll out come is one thing, but it's hopefully never QUITE what you expect.

Horns and Khelt. The Horns are always gold but I'm feeling the Fetohep withdrawal. It's been far too long since we have heard from his Majesty the King of Khelt.
I don’t blame anyone,(not enough/invested arcs) but almost everyone who wishes for Rabbiteatter. Throw Neirs by the way side xD he got no love by the community, but all the same i hope they both win :)
Neirs already got to flirt hard, if he wins, we just get to see him be made fun of for it lol but he is Erin's type.

It’s a close race. But there is only one option where we get the best of both worlds. We must remember that half of the horns are with Rabbit eater. So if we vote for Rabbit eater, we get him, and the neglected bits of the horns. Funny, I started writing this to try and convert others to the horns. halfway through it I’ve only managed convinced myself to change sides.

1st September 2024 since we last heard about Rabbiteater. It is simply far too long.
I don't necessarily mind the poll chapters, it's just that apart from the brief Erin interlude it's been nothing but poll chapters for the last 2 months.
I really want to see Rabbiteater getting Seraphel into shape and maybe even have them encounter another group of Goblins (even if only Badarrow gets to see them).
First vote I've seen where my answer is just "yes"
This is a difficult one. I love the horns and I definitely want to see the holy war brewing in Khelt. Then there’s the nautical chemistry setting sail in Baleros with SeraphelXRabbiteater and NiersXNerry. I think I’m going to go with Ylawes and Nailren chapters tho. Our golden boy is finally loosening up and getting some much deserved character development and with Pekona on the roster we might get more of that sweet sweet elusive Drathian Lore. Also Nailren is cool.
Woo more horns! ksmvr needs to collect more trees. if he'd been there at the palace of fates, he'd probably just come out of it somehow stealing a bunch of trees
The last Nailren chapters really sold me on him as a character, he has a really interesting POV to read. I hope we get to read more of him
Sooooo . . . we haven’t been blessed with an “Erin” arc in over 18 months. Which is longer than she was a popsicle. And that “arc” was three chapters. Or about the same length as the “Durene and friends” soap opera. At this point it feels like a high school break-up where communication happened only on one side (and the subsequent intermittent chapters are “Glory Days” sex).
This one was hard. This one was hard! Ultimately tho I think niers and rabbiteater is the choice. I adore the horns, but we usually come back to them while niers and rabbiteater stories are much more spread out. With Erin in Baleros, I’ve been much more curious about what’s going on on that continent ha ha
While I guess the series really is “The Wandering Inn” and not “The Wandering Innkeeper”, I still miss consistent chapters about Erin. Unfortunately, Erin is a character that’s big and powerful enough, now, that her very presence moves the plot along faster than Pirate Aba would like, I’d wager. My two favorite characters to read about are definitely Queen Bird and Emperor Laken.
Is Erin just not part of this series anymore as anything more than an occasional side character?
She really isn't lol. I feel like post V9 we've started a new era or maybe the second half of TWI where the main protagonists are Mrsha/Lyonnete. I don't particularly mind tho, the post PoF chapters have all been amazing.

As much as I like the new lands adventures I had to vote a different way on this one. Having everyone scattered to the wind on different continents has me wanting a resolution where everyone starts coming together again. Feels like rabbiteater has been away from his family for too long.

I would like to see the stranded parties have more updates. I’m a little fuzzy on how much relative time has taken place.
Why are we going from poll chapter to poll chapter with single interlude chapters in between? I feel like the story hasn’t moved in a year. It’s dragon ball Z on steroids.
While I generally understand your problem, commenting this under this poll, is kind of ironic since this literally promises a main arc and a continuation of the story.

I really hope we revisit Ylawes even though I know he's not going to win. I really want to see his growth. He could be really important in the vampire struggles. I want to read all of these, though. It's always painful to see what we could have had. I mourn Klb and the streamer.

For everyone saying we haven't seen the Horns in a bit, we haven't seen Rabbit since 10.22! And that was the only chapter Rabbit has gotten in this entire volume 😭. Adding the Horns to this poll option is just unfair tho, why are we even having a main story poll?? Does this mean the other two options get sidelined until they get another poll chance? Feels wrong....
No, pirate just puts up the things they WANT to write. We'll see all three, you just get to help decide which one we see first.

Haven't seen the Horns in a minute, though I will be very happy regardless. All 3 options are intriguing, I love me some Rabbit and Niers is my favorite little warlord. Our boy Ylawes seems like the guy to narrowly avoid death saving someone important, but be forever changed by something abyssal that crawled out of its hole when the ocean floor decided to become sea level. The new lands are scary in a "you're all gonna die to something horrific and forgotten by time and The System itself" kinda way. I'm fully expecting some sort of Seith-powered monsters/undead (and guns? Hide them from Kevin, he's gonna make a bicycle with a gatling gun connected to the pedals)
I love how Ylawes is fighting an uphill battle even in the polls.
