BLOCK 2025 Poll!
IT'S TIME!!
BLOCK voting is open! I've reduced the list this year to just 250 chooses this year (feedback last year was 400+ was way too many!)
As is tradition, I'm sure I have made errors (either with double ups/topics we've done before) - let me know below if you spot any! If the poll is closed when you try to vote it's probably cause I'm in there fixing a mistake! Cheers and happy (nearly) BLOCK!!
PS. when searching for the block suggestion thread I accidentally saw an old post someone made about not liking block because it's always grizzly topics. They also said they don't like making us report on things we don't want to. I can't remember if I responded at the time, but I would say 1. the majority of block topics aren't grizzly and I'm pretty sure that's always been the case and 2. if we were uncomfortable doing a topic we wouldn't do it - so don't have any worries about that and vote with your heart!
PPS. I love you all! Thanks for making BLOCK the funnest time of year!!
-Matt

Hot damn what a list!!
So many bangers!!
I have no idea why, but I cannot get the link to work. noticed the same with a topic poll a few weeks ago. doesnt look like anyone is having trouble so I have no clue as to why its just me
Try this: bit.ly/BLOCK25
Wow, so many good topics! Hoping we get a good mix of genres, but looking forward to it regardless. Bring on Blockmas!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Blockmas!! Ring the bells! Prepare the feast!
We love you too, Matt!
That is an overwhelming number of topics to choose! I can't believe you have to chose one from the hat with even more choices! Crazzy
Not quite block related but I recently re-listened to the World War 1 episodes, would love to see you guys do another themed series of episodes, it was a really cool idea!
Woof! Many many that I REALY want to see so crossing my fingers! Can’t wait for Block! It was 5 years ago during Block I got introduced to DGO by Hoogsy so it’s a special time haha
Pedro Rodrigues Filho is going to be difficult to make jokes for! It’s a brutal topic but very interesting. Strange he is not more known.
Great list! I think I saw Alexander Hamilton as a choice and later the American Revolution. There would be lots of overlap in those stories, so hopefully they don’t both win this year, or they could be paired as a series.
Devastated none of my suggestions weren’t picked (even though I thought they got a few likes). But there are some incredible topics to be voted for!
I take that back. My Dr Feelgood suggestion got up. Yay 🥳
Some fab options in there, I think this block might the very best yet!
The murder of Alexander Litvinenko and the Salisbury poisonings are the same thing.
They’re two different poisonings, one in 2006 and the other 2018. Both wild!
Was very disappointed to see that The man eating Lions of Tsavo is not a man that ate the lions of Tsavo.
SO funny, glad you said that, I laughed out loud:)
So many good ones, I hope the amber alert one wins, it’s such an incredible story that led to a system that’s saved so many lives.. I’d also love to see you guys dance around such a tough topic, those are my favorite episodes
If Biosphere 2 or London Bridge make block than I will have to get photos there in my DGO tshirt in their honor
Would love to hear superfan Mish guest report for Buffy! Also if the Come From Away story makes it there’s a wonderful doco interviewing the air traffic controllers on Disney+ called Control the Skies xox
Mate I could be wrong but have you already done the Batavia Mutiny?
I'm not ready to be disappointed by the voting public again, come on DGO fans, dont let me down!!!!
Votes submitted - best poll of the year every year!
Yay BLOCK so many awesome topics! Bring it on! ✌️
Surreal to see a local crime story on the ballot!
Hope we see a good mix for block! Mystery, heist, history, pop culture, disaster, etc etc
This is so difficult, most of these sound like great topics
Super exciting to see one of my topics get on the list!
Having just listened to the Year Without Summer episode, I had to cackle at the note about loudness next to Krakatoa.
I have a suggestion on the list! I've made it!!
A lot of great topics that I’m surprised you haven’t done yet My suggestion didn’t make it in this time, but there’s always next year. You’ll get in someday, history or pants
The most important election of our life time... until next year's Block
So many good options!!! Can't wait for BLOCK (and I have to ask... what are you doing for block this year???) Tangentially related - just saw the new Naked Gun movie and man, is it a blast! Recommend it!
Can't wait to see it!
Hamilton (the man, not the musical) is one of the first episodes of the fan pod, Do Go Off, hopefully dropping after Block. Nowhere near official, and very reliant on me having my act together, but Patrons in the WhatsApp group have been yarning up a storm.
That said, if Conor T is the guest reporter for that DGO Block ep, I’d *love* listen to the Trio respond to his way of telling the story!
Cheers to all your hard work and thanks for putting this all together, Matt (and of course Jess and Dave)! Can’t wait for BLOCK!
My suggestion on the block topic thread (and I think I saw someone else suggest it) of Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath isn't there unfortunately, not sure if it was missed or just filtered based on votes. If not in the running for BLOCK then hopefully it'll be covered at some point! Think of all the episodes of the Osbournes you could watch/quote 😂
I covered Ozzy on a live show in Birmingham a few years back, pretty sure its a bonus episode! In hindsight probably didn't delve into his life as much as he deserved but was cool to talk about him in his home town!
Every time I go to vote it’s closed!! I’m dying to see the topics!
should be open now! haha had quite a few errors to fix, whoops!
Is the poll closed already? That's the error message I'm getting 😱
I have to close it when editing, so you must've tried opening it when I was fixing a mistake sorry
Block party 🎉 The Gunpowder Plot of 1605 is there but you've already done it - it's episode 123!
amazing cheers! I only have the vaguest memory of it now that you've mentioned it haha
For either of the Nintendo options you should absolutely have Tommy Dassalo come back on and do the report
I voted for all the topics that sounded cheerful. I tend to skip episodes that are too grim or depressing.
that's certainly your prerogative!
🥳🎉
We love block!!
You have the 1996 Everest disaster twice and the polyibus urban legend twice.
So many interesting topics for only a few weeks of Ocotvemberxmas. ALL OF THEM! Also: Polybius is twice on.
BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK!
The Post Office scandal is there twice, once as Horizon PO scandal and once as British PO scandal.
cheers!
Done!
You have women’s suffrage and the 1996 Everest disaster twice
cheers!
Polybius is also on there twice just FYI!
thank you!
What a list 😍
CANNOT WAIT FOR BLOCK!!
Juan pujol garcia not making the cut again dammit
was on last year but polled very low so got cut sorry!
Suffragettes are in there twice methinks
cheers!
Up the RA!
Honoured as a newly (well Januaryish) Patreon to be finally included as an active Block participant, but holy crap what a lot of choices
ITS TIME TO WATCH THE BLOCK
PRE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR
