BLOCK Poll 2024!
It's here! The BLOCK 2024 poll! It's (I'm pretty sure) by far the largest we've ever had! You can pick as many topics as you like, but only vote once!

Can't wait for the Block Party! (Do they have them and/or call them that, in Australia?)
I was the 69th “like” 🫶😉 Nice.
Doneski! Happy block to you!
Wow wow wow!! So much to choose from 😍😍 being from Northern Ireland I'd love to hear your take on the IRA/troubles etc
Hahaha history of pants made me actually snort 🤣
Me too! And then I quoted Gary Busey. https://youtu.be/OE4MrFx2XCs?si=zoeDu-_VpGhFEysn
I’m in..congrats to the trio and everyone that has contributed to the hat….WOW what a listical
Bring on Block ✌️
I don't think I can post a gif here, but reading this list is like watching the never-ending Spaceballs shot of the ship. EDIT: I only ticked topics related to three of my interests - wrestling, submarines, and Dick Van Dyke. I still ticked 13 topics.
You might need to start a daily podcast....
What a list!!! Sooo much choice - it’s gonna be Blocktastik!
If the Bhopal (but really the Union-Carbide) disaster doesn't make Block - then I hope somebody gets fired for that blunder! Also fuck yeah black holes - you could get some kind of scientist for the episode! GNU Sir Terry Pratchett - hope he makes it to Block ♥️
Not gonna lie, I'm also hoping my two suggestions make it as well: the Chicxulub Asteroid that killed all non-avian dinosaurs (led to the rise & reign of the mammals), and the origin of chiropractic (con artist held a seance with a ghost doctor)!
1) "Ooh! A mutiny!" 2) I need you guys to cover Matthew Hopkins aka the "Witchfinder General" so more people understand why if I ever get a time machine the first thing I'm doing is going back to fuck that guy up. 3) Any/all comics or MCU topics need to have Maso as a guest. I don't make the rules.
I don't think you guys could get anyone more primed than Mr. Sunday Movies to do the Star Wars Prequels episode.
I don't know if people realize that the Vince McMahon episode will be the darkest episode of Block, possibly of Do Go On.
I haven't made it through the list yet, but I heartily agree. If you covered his "on-air" personality it would be weird enough, but behind the scenes...yeesh. No sneezing allowed.
I teach pilates workouts and would loooovvveee to hear more detail about the inventor!! although…. if he’s crook no one get mad at me for teaching his ways🤣🤣
There’s a brilliant podcast called Maintenance Phase that has done a report on the history of Pilates and its founder 👍
thanks for the clarification on the Berlin Wall
omggggggg, so many good ones! If frank sinatra is one, I hope they talk about that time he was in Australia and the unions black banned him for being an asshole and he couldn't get out of the country because no one could even fuel the plane.
Fuck yeah!
I ticked a few boxes there with the implied understanding of a guest visit. Maso has a day job! But I think Broden promised an appearance for a recent tragedy if that rates.
Voted for some I didn't know, and some I think would be entertaining. Nitpick warning: can Selena be capitilized?
Ian Fleming is near the bottom, make sure to scroll down and vote!
WWII being tagged as "sequel to WWI" got me good 🤣
And the Hitler description
That was a lot....
Just when you think we've blocked so much block already, we find more block than a $1000 lego set
Voted for about 30 of them. So much choice. I mainly went for things I knew nothing or very little about
So exciting 5 of the ones I put in made it on to the list but above all the one I’m rooting for is Gloria Ramirez( the toxic lady) and absolutely facilitating story
So many I probably would have voted for but got tired mid-read
Very excited to see so many German topics on the list. I wonder which one you'll do at the Berlin live show ;) I also hope Matt does the report so we can hear him attempt to pronounce the German words. 😜
That’s why I picked a lot of Spanish and European topics to hear the name pronunciation and possible accents
Holy Molly What a list.. Gotta love a a Big Ol List Looking forward to Block
Well, that was crazy.
I voted for the cheerful topics. Also, all the "summarize a movies or tv series" suggestions need to be done by Michelle Brasier.
Heads up I think American Revolution is in there twice, and as Hayley mentioned the Tupac/BIG topic was already covered. This is a monster list and you've done an amazing job putting it together. I guess this is more a PSA for people voting to look out for those. So keen for BLOCK! 🤩
cheers mate, will try and trim them out - the survey website is giving me a bit of grief!
I think the voting is going wild because mine won’t load the survey
should be working now!
There are two topics related to the east coast/west coast hip hop rivalry that I think were already covered in depth in that recent two-parter!
cheers Hayley!
Guys, I just voted in Block for the first time!!! 🍒💢Gosh this is exciting!!! Who else has an ATB report on their Block wishlist this year?
(Closes laminated A3-sized menu with like 150 pages that weighs maybe 10kgs) I'll just take the arses thanks
I mean, Jack Parsons literally has the same name as me, so that got my vote for that sole reason
Damn that list was overwhelming. My special interest radar was pinging 😂😂
First time voting for block. can’t believe how many topics there are 😳😮
I told myself i was only going to pick 5. It got out of hand fast
Is block going to go for a whole year with all those topics? 😂 Im shocked the history of blocktober isn't on the list to go full meta!
Man. That just kept going. A number of wonderful topics that I worry won't be picked because people dare having different interests than me. Also, some of them picked in the hope it would be tackled from the right angle. Like with Hamilton covering where the musical was wrong, for example.
Please please please Jaws
If one of the submarine ones wins, please can Jess do the report but as petulantly as possible?
holy crap so many good topics... that took me awhile to vote
I actually hope it's not Hillsborough as it's too close for me. My dad was there, he survived. We as a city still boycott The Sun. But I understand that many topics will affect someone somewhere.
If Ocean Gate happens, will you grant Broden his wish to tell the story?
There are a few doubles on the list, like Selena, Sancho Villa and the 1923 earthquake. I really love the idea of the triptych of mini reports about one hit wonders. Make it a quartet and invite Josh Earl!
Came to say the same thing. American Revolution too.
What's YOUR favourite block topic?... MINE's the scientist!
Woo hoo block!! Heads up you've got a bunch of duplicates in there
have been working my way through trimming them out, cheers!
"America's version of the NBL" 🤣🤣🤣 Take a bow whoever wrote that
haha had to keep myself entertained during all the data entry!
Someone I follow on Instagram put up a bunch of stories today from the Winchester house and I thought I’d like to know more about this weird place. And now it’s first on the list for Block voting? It’s fate!
So on a quick scan through I’m pretty sure that I saw (and voted for) Sailor Moon twice 😆
Very excited for this year! I noticed there are some topics doubled up in the list and also saw already completed topics!
any in particular?
That is a lot!
There were a few topics listed twice - Hamilton, Selena, Voynich manuscripts and Come From Away is the same as the story of the people of Gander. (Sorry to complain! Great job on setting up such a huge poll!!)
no, I appreciate it! happens every year haha, feels like it's part of the tradition
There are some topics on here that have already had reports, like Tupac & Notorious BIG
And Wu Tang are listed twice. Someone a huge rap fan?
That list is SOOO long!! 😂
“The Troubles (a conflict)” is the most understated way I have ever seen that put 😆
Bloody hell! I selected topics I know, topics I want to know and topics the likes of which I’ve never heard! Hurry up block :D
So many amazing topics! I'm so excited!! I need to go buy my tree to decorate for BLOCK!
Oh my God it's happening! Everybody stay calm. Everybody stay calm! Everybody stay f*cking calm!
