I just love how a female mangaka does shōnen so well. Looking forward to the next episodes. Also cool how easy you guys spot the VAs. BTW, I very much prefer the new video layout. So much better.
Let the Full Metal Alchemist brotherhood sequel begin ! Woo ! Im attributing it to that basically same creator some even the same voices in dub for some characters idk about sub voice actors
Daemon and demon are essentially the same thing. Originally 'daimon' in Greek, it became 'daemon' in Latin, and 'demon' in English. But in Greek 'daimon' refers to spirits both good and evil, whereas its English derivative 'demon' came to be evil spirits only. That's why writers began to use the word daemon to refer to spirits in general.
As Morgan watched the FMA dub and I watch the dub for this Left shares a voice actor with Riza Hawkeye. I thought that was the only one but apparently the granny is voiced by Envy lol. It’s nice that some are sharped but def don’t want too many so this gets to be seen as its own thing
Just realized that Yuru's VA is the same as the green haired guy from A Silent Voice
In the dub, Left is voice by Colleen Clinkenbeard who does Riza Hawkeye and Monkey D. Luffy. So she has pretty good track record of voicing dope characters.
Yomi means Underworld and Tsugai means Pair, I guess the author or her editorial team thought Daemons and Shadowrealm sounded cooler in English. Dera didn't give Akuma as an example but you might have recognized a couple other words he used like Yokai or Bakemono. With the woman & horse pair that show up later being referred to as Kami - Gods - they're basically saying that all of these concepts can fit neatly under one umbrella and they always come in pairs. Personally if could pick my own daemon pair I think it'd be sick to have a pair of cryptids. Like Bigfoot and Mothman, or maybe Tree Octopus and The Fresno Nightcrawler 🤣
Yomi specifically refers to the Shinto concept of the land of the dead. So it's a bit difficult to translate. Words like "Hades" or "Hell" have their own cultural connotations so I can see why they went with Shadow Realm to bypass that. "Pairs" is definitely less marketable so I understand that change as well. The legend behind Oshira-sama - the horse and lady - is certainly something.
Very happy y’all are checking this out. The creator and premise alone makes it worth it. I really dig that Yuru uses a bow and arrow. Archers are always so awesome.
It should be pronounced demon but even in the dub they say day-mon lol. The ae used to be a single letter called an ash. You'd see it in older texts in common words like Encyclopaedia. There are also computer programs called "daemons" pronounced demons. So really it's a mispronunciation but one I feel like shows up often enough to may as well be a valid pronunciation now
So I don't have a lit background but while demon and daemon are similar if not came from the same greek word, I recall daemon/s are used in context of lesser divinities or spirits. So personally I think the use of daemon over demon is done on purpose. But yea it could've been just a creative choice from the mangaka.
New season of Fullmetal Alchemist, let's go

Asa means morning and Yuru roughly evening/dusk/night (derived from Yoru which means night)
