Mythic Magazine Podcast Content Poll
Greetings Mythicists! I hope everyone is doing well :)
I've talked in the past about doing another podcast, and we had a discussion about it a few months back. I've thought about what we talked about, and the result is the poll below. The next podcast is going to be an actual play, or at least the start of one. The poll is to determine what the actual play will be about.
Please choose as many options as you like. I'll use the results of this poll to help decide what game system to use for the actual play, and what Mythic/Crafter mechanics to include.
Please keep in mind there is also a write-in option where you can post in the comments what you'd like to see. By checking the "Other" poll option, it gives me a better idea how many people want something that is not on the poll.
In previous discussions about the podcast, suggestions for content boiled down to three things: an actual play, interviewing guests, incorporating Mythic/Crafter rules, and sometimes combinations of any or all three. To get myself used to doing an actual play in podcast format, I'm going to start with just an actual play. As time goes on and I do more podcasts, I would like to incorporate interviews in as well, and possibly have guests play part of an adventure with me.
Also, it'll probably take me some time to get this podcast made. I'll leave this poll live for the whole time, so if you change your mind later about something feel free to return and adjust your choices.
So, let's get this party started! Again, choose as many options below as you like. Click on the stuff you would like to see! Or, hear.
Happy adventure polling :)

+1 for Cypher System

I would love to see a take on doing a PbtA system with mythic, as I've often found that those can be awkward to play solo with how much some of them lean on PC-to-PC interaction (Monsterhearts, and Urban Shadows for example.) If going for something in the vein of DnD, I'd rather see Pathfinder 2e over DnD 5e because it's an overall much better system IMHO.
+1 to PbtA. Especially World of Dungeons or something similar, since it's rules-lite and allows you to lean more into the narrative and genre.
Cypher, Dragonbane, so many systems I'd love to see! Also would be so cool to see an example of running a published scenario or a mission from a campaign (D&D or otherwise) as the GM and running the party as NPCs to go through it :)
+1 for Fate (Accelerated or Condensed) as I'm curious how one would incorporate the meta-currency with Mythic. That being said, I feel like Cypher System is a dark horse waiting to be discovered by Mythicists as a surprisingly good fit for Mythic. Its asymmetric nature allows character-build play while also making NPCs really easy to generate.
City of Mist!
Mythic Magic plus Creature Crafter
+1 for Fate. Preferably Fate Condensed, but any version will do.
+1 for some version of FATE. But just having the Mythic Emulator standalone would be awesome.
Fate Accelerated seems like such an ideal system to solo roleplay with.
Happy with all or any of the above but would be great to see a sneak peak of 2e. I also love the new world building tool. Thank you
Hi Tana, not so much a fan of podcast. I would rather like to see a writeup. But thanks for letting us have a vote.
I don't know that I want a write-up in place of the podcast, but if someone does one to accompany it, that would be excellent. +1 for a write-up
Would love to see this with Star Trek Adventures or the Cypher System
Any thoughts on FATE solo wood be great!
I'd love to see something done with Ironsworn! It's my fave. system and there's a lot of cross over, but either way! Thought I would ask, thank you!
For the RPG system, I'd love to see a take on any PbtA game. I did play a solo adventure using Mythic with a Cthulhu-esque PbtA system and found it difficult to interpret partial hits / complications in a way that's not too punishing.
I feel Mythic RPG 2E, even in an unfinished state, would be a great choice as it is what we are embracing moving forward. Including Setting and World Creation would be nice as it helps one ease into the game/podcast in a casual manner while also showcasing the power of Mythic as a 1 Stop Shop that can truly do it all! Throwing in Savage Worlds as an extra, if desired, (to show how Mythic plays well with others) as it is a really good, easily adaptable RPG that pairs nicely. I am up for anything but Post-Apocalypse will almost always get my first vote, lol.
I went with Call of Cthulhu. I heard you say in an interview I saw a while back, that CoC was your favourite rpg to play solo.
Yes, CoC is one of my favorite RPGs of all time. Good choice!
I'd love to see GURPS, but that might just be me.
I haven't played GURPS in decades, but I did love the system and wouldn't mind diving back into it.
