Hello, I just joined your Patreon, loving your content. I appreciate everything you do with Mythic! I recently picked up the three physical compilations of Mythic Magazine back issues, and I was wondering if a fourth compilation wwas on the horizon? As I'm catching up, I figure I'd like to have the individual issues digital via Patreon and then buy the compilation physically as they come out to have on my shelf for easy chair reading.
Welcome, and thank you :) Yes! A fourth Compilation is in the works. It was delayed as I worked on Mythic GME2E, but it's in production now.
The Never-Ending Adventure section has me pondering all kinds of Subnautica-esque solo survival/horror games and I am so stoked to give it a shot.
That's very cool :) I definitely had the survival video game genre in mind when I was writing that article.
So far I love the random event section. I normally just ignored random events (unless the combat dragged on too long.) Now it seems so simple to just have the event be related to the battle specifically!
I'm glad you like that :) It's in line with how MGME2E treats Random Events, where selecting an Event Focus is sometimes encouraged over rolling for it. I think combat is one of those instances where it's almost necessary.
This revised combat system is exactly what I was hoping for! I have been eagerly awaiting this article all month and it's so good, it will help tide me over until the 2e mythic rpg :)
I'm glad you like it :) And I'm especially glad you mentioned Mythic RPG 2e, because I think this combat system is kind of representative of the direction MRPG2E is taking.
