Mythic Magazine Podcast #23: Adventure Crafting Mythic

Greetings Mythicists! I hope your Aprils are going well and that your Player Characters always experience favorable winds when sailing the high seas!

In this edition of the Mythic Magazine Podcast, embark on a fantastic nautical adventure as we delve into "Adventure Crafting Mythic", using The Adventure Crafter as a Yes/No oracle and for Discovering Meaning!

I create a Mythic adventure using The Adventure Crafter, then use concepts from Mythic Magazine #64 to build up the first two Scenes.

At the end of the podcast I give some thoughts about how well these methods worked, and overall how they felt. I had some technical difficulties with this recording: when I played part of it back for editing, my voice was super high pitched, complete chipmunk voice! I don't know how that happened. My working theory is this: an alternate universe version of myself, who is a humanoid chipmunk, snuck into my office while I was at lunch and re-recorded over my original audio. After all, I think this explanation makes the most sense, don't you?

I was able to record those sections again, however, without further meddling from the Chipmunkverse.

If you're curious about using The Adventure Crafter as an oracle and for Discovering Meaning, you may find this podcast interesting. I got a lot of play from the oracle aspect. The dice were less cooperative when using TAC as a Meaning table, but I still got good, usable results that propelled the story forward so I can't complain.

Happy adventuring! :)
