Mythic Magazine #61
Greetings Mythicists! I hope you all had wonderful holidays, and that no solo adventures ended in defeat by a final boss that was a giant rubby ducky. Because that would be embarrassing.
We kick the new year off right with Mythic Magazine issue #61! This issue continues the latest crafter rules, focused on building cities. There's also a twist to one of Mythic's central mechanics.
Here's what we got:
The City Crafter: Generate random cities, for any game genre, with playable detail and a map to help you get through it.
Degrees Of Fate: Expand your Fate Question interpretations with extra layers of meaning with 10 degrees of Yes and No.
Happy adventuring everyone, and happy 2026! :)

The City Crafter looks amazing. Happy New Year and thanks for making this the best money I spend on a subscription.!!
I made some small corrections to the "Degrees Of Fate" article and uploaded a new file. The only changes are on pages 24, 25, and 36 that refer to the Fate Check as "1d20". That's been corrected to "2d10". The reason I made this error is because the Fate Check is slightly different in Mythic RPG 2e and uses 1d20. That apparently is so stuck in my brain now that it crept into the magazine.
Happy Belated New Year and thank you for all you do for this wonderful community.
Thank you so much Dean! Happy New Year to you too :)
Hello and happy new year, I am a little puzzled. Was the Fate Check from GME2e not originally a 2d10 roll instead of a 1d20 roll? I looked it up on page 25, it's talking about a 2d10 roll.
Whoops, that's my fault. It's an error. I'll see about updating that :)
Time for Compilations #9 and #10 from DriveThru?
Happy New Year, Tana. Thank you so much.
Thank you Bill :) Happy New Year!
Thanks for the City Crafter - and making it genre neutral. This is going to be something I will definitely want to dig into for world creation. I'm thinking the map can give a high-level context or potential context that feed into the Location Crafter. Eg. a "square" has a military connotation. So if you're travelling through that area, a result of "Expected" in Location Crafter might be a military checkpoint or guardhouse. I might have to think about this as it makes sense to me that you'd want to use the result as seemlessly as possible with Location Crafter. Might be a great future podcast episode. I've already changed the Mythic Yes/No oracle into extra levels with Weak Yes/No, Yes/No, Strong Yes/No, Critical Yes/No - so I'm not sure I need any more levels myself - but your take is simple and elegant to me. Degrees of yes and no offer quite a bit in terms of narrative nuance.
Thanks Patrick :) That's a good idea combining the City Crafter with Location Crafter. Maybe you could have the tile spaces for the city take the place of the Location roll with LC, or default the Location roll to if you get Expected it's what's in the tile, and if you get something like Special or Random it's what's in the tile plus something else. You're right, this could be a podcast thing to delve into.
Happy new year, Tana! You'll never know just how much you've enriched our lives by sharing your craft <3
