Greetings Mythicists! I hope your month is going well and that you got something nice for your Player Characters for the holidays.
Here's what's going on around here:
Mythic Magazine #61
We've now officially entered Mythic Magazine's sixth year with the start of issue #61! The Content Poll winners this month were "The City Crafter" and "Degrees Of Fate". I feel like the City Crafter is a natural, coming on the heels of Society Crafter and Fantasy World Crafter. I should consider compiling all of these into some kind of world building book down the line.
Degrees Of Fate is something players have been pondering for years. It's interesting how it's panning out, since Fate Questions aren't really a success/fail kind of system. You can use it for that of course, but it's more about gaining details about the adventure world. This Degrees Of Fate approach takes both into account, so that answers to Fate Questions can be viewed as layers of success or failure, or layers of narrative detail.
Micro Mythic In Editing
Micro Mythic has completed the first draft phase and is now in the editing phase. The image above is a flowchart from chapter one, showing a visual guide to how you could use all ten of the one-pagers together.
During this editing phase, I'm focusing on making the One-Pagers tighter and more cohesive. Since they were mostly written separately from each other, they don't all play well together. I'm making changes in some of them so they line up better and don't repeat anything that another One-Pager already handles.
Mythic Magazine 5 Year Anniversary Sale
In honor of the magazine reaching the ripe age of 5, I'm holding a 30% off sale on Mythic Magazine PDFs on DriveThru now through Dec. 17. This applies to all volumes of the magazine and Compilations, except Compilation #6 which, for some reason, DriveThru's system wouldn't except a sale price on. Coil Up With A Good Book
I've been working on getting more of my books available in coilbound format through Lulu. The latest editions to go coil are Mythic Magazine Compilations #7 and #8. Compilation #8 is a really big book, the largest Compilation I think. Just look at the size of that coil in the photo above!

Where does the One-Page Scene Crafter appear? I've been Googling and digging and can't find that one.
That's a new one in Micro Mythic. There are a couple of new One-Pagers in the book.
Happy 5th year!! I am so excited about the Micro Mythic! 🤩 Year 7 here we come! Love the flow charts, they are one of the reasons Mythic is so easy to use. This and the fun big examples the texts contain.
Thank you Xerix :) I'm glad you like the flow charts! They're fun to make, as are the big examples. Sometimes I get too into a Big Example and just keep going lol
Really like how the flowchart makes clear how to use the whole ensemble together. I've definitely struggled to understand the workflow with some of the "large toolkit" solo engines.
Have to admit I am a tad disappointed there is no 1 page / micro mythic version of your horror rules. I thought after seeing the mystery article get a 1 page version that this would be coming out.
I plan to make more One-Pagers in the magazine after Micro Mythic comes out. There are a lot of past articles that would be good material for One-Pagers, including horror, emotional quests, and I'm sure many others.
Finally something I voted for won 😂
Micro Mythic updates always make me salivate. 🤤
Maybe I should add the One-Page Salivation Crafter to it! :)
