Greetings Mythicists! I hope you're all doing well and that your Player Characters have pleasant dreams and not nightmares because they got cursed by a mage :)

Mythic Magazine #55 is here, and it ranges from exploring deep into galaxies unknown to exploration of memories unknown!

This issue contains:

Galaxy Creator: Create randomized galaxies bursting with adventuring potential. This combines well with the Star System Creator for infinite emergent generated universes, as you play.

Escape From The Somnus Citadel: A full, solo adventure, where your PC wakes up in a strange castle with no memory of how they got there or who they are! Can you recover your lost memories and find your way out?

Both of these articles required stepping back into two of my favorite Mythic Magazine articles from before: The Star System Creator and The Crypts Of Kozen Crest. The systems in this issue expand on those earlier articles, taking them in new directions with new ideas.

Happy adventuring! :)

The Galaxy Creator is amazing, and this new adventure is truly compelling. I love how you've turned the concept of recovering your memory into an actual journey. After reading this article, I was wondering—do you have any plans to create a fantasy version of The Galaxy Creator in the future? It would be incredibly handy, both for GMs and solo players, to have a module that helps shape a world, continent, or city in a fantasy setting.

Thank you Thomas, I'm glad you like it :) And yes, others have asked about things along the lines of what you're saying and I really like the idea! I feel like this is growing into a body of tools to create worlds in detail. We have galaxy creation and star system creation, we also have society creation from issue #49. It seems like some obvious ones that are missing are a planet creator and a fantasy-specific world creator. I'm thinking of those as two separate systems. A fantasy creator might be something a bit broader, to whip up the kind of fantasy worlds we're accustomed to: a continent or continents, major and minor nations, common social norms, common technology level and standard of living, the level of magic and monsters, legends and past lore, and story hooks. I'm going to add those two ideas to future content polls. I'm hoping eventually to have a full collection of these world building tools.

Ooh, I love the solo modules! I can get lost in those for months. I'm still immersed in Tockley Manor. Zane Hoxel's occult ritual has just gone a little bit wrong, and Ann Sharpe is stealing souls to feed to the Great Old One. Happy times! I'll post new updates to the Discord.

That sounds awesome :) Occult rituals are best when gone a little bit wrong :)

I'm going to upload a revised file in a few days. There's two things I want to change. One is a mistake, it's small but it bothers me. The other is a detail change. Both are small but it's the kind of thing that popped into my mind while going to sleep last night.

I love setting design. I think over the next few days I will bake up a sci-fantasy setting top down. Galaxy to City, then make a character and see how they fly.

That sounds very cool :) That's the kind of universe-to-boots-on-the-ground world design I was hoping for with the Galaxy and Star System Creators. Total world building. I hope you share what you come up with, I'm very interested. I think a Planet Creator should go on the poll soon.

A great issue as always but even at a first, quick look The Galaxy Creator is... well... HUGE!
