Bonapartism and Fascism by Leon Trotsky, read - and with introductory remarks by - Jack Graham
An essay by Leon Trotsky from 1934 on the differences, similarities, and relations between 'Bonapartism' and fascism, with reference to events in France.
I think this is a very important essay for our current moment. I present it here, in its entirety. I have - perhaps presumptuously - added my own introductory context, remarks and observations, which may be skipped by progressing to 16.30 minutes into the file.

Thanks for doing this series. Every episode illuminates how much I still have to learn. Not in a position to read a whole lot of theory right now, so these bits really help.
Hey Jack, sorry to bug you - I'm completely off social media now. Is Daniel coming back to the show soon? Is he okay? Not asking for personal details, just haven't heard from him in a while. Also, been enjoying your output, I don't comment much but it's appreciated. I'd not heard Trotsky's words directly before; they're not incomprehensible like I thought they might be haha. You also got me to rewatch Fire Walk With Me which I greatly enjoyed. Hopefully you've started on and are enjoying The Return!
Hi, thanks for sticking around for my sans-Daniel output. Glad you're getting something out of it. Daniel is okay and improving all the time. He and I are actively planning to be back together making new IDSG either later this year or early next year.
