The Stone Tape (1972)

I'm once again joined for another Spooktobery podcast by George Daniel Lea and Elliot Chapman, time time talking about The Stone Tape from 1972.  Broadcast by the BBC, directed by Peter Sasdy, written by Nigel Kneale, and starring Jane Asher, Michael Bryant, and Ian Cuthbertson.  This is a legendary bit of uncanny TV and our conversation reflects the passionate enthusiasm we all feel for it.  Perhaps better known than The Changeling, our subject last time, but equally underappreciated (I'd say) for the masterpiece it really is.  Once again you, my patrons, get advance access.

I'm so excited for Ghostwatch. I watched that for the first time 5 years ago, stoned and alone in the weird granny flat I was living in at the time, and it was the most terrifying bit of telly I'd ever seen. I'd read all about it, I should have been immune, but it was still deeply unsettling.

This is such a brilliant discussion. I hadn't watched it in about 10 years but thought I'd listen anyway. Got half an hour in and needed to watch it again. Finished watching and needed the comfort of your discussion to calm me. The aspects of videotape that you discuss are something very close to my heart.

Okay, you bastards. This should just be a semi-regular thing with you three. Loved the conversation.
