Lovecraft Retrospective: The Mound

George Daniel Lea and I chat about Lovecraft's decidedly odd ghostwriting project The Mound. Unusually for Lovecraft this is a Western, a straight ghost story (for a while), and quite luridly violent (at least in reference). A deranged and reactionary social satire in the manner of the utopian/dystopian literary tradition, this also works itself around to being markedly anti-imperialist and even depressingly relevant to our own times...
