Patreon Update - Year 2022

Happy New Year everyone!

2021 has been a great year for homebrew — from hitting the 50 patron goals to hitting a 10K Instagram giveaway, and just basically producing a ton of content I am so proud of. I've only started drawing seriously last year, so I feel I'm improving! I'm looking forward to the next year and what it brings and how we can continue to grow!

CONTENT UPDATES

  • More Focus on Items. I keep writing 25-page compendiums even though my goal was always ~15 pages, which is unsustainable. I've basically been working non-stop (nights, weekends, late nights) except for holidays. So starting February, I will finally reduce non-item content. I will still include 4~6 other pages, including lore, subclasses, or monsters that fit the theme.
    (Coincidentally, this will actually come into effect for this month because it's an item-heavy theme!)

  • Focus on Original Work. Related to above, I want to reduce use of non-original art, partially because I want to fully own all my content and partially because it's expensive. Less lore pages will help with this. This means there might be more walls of text or lower-quality images — I hope that's okay!

  • Schedule. I'm still sticking with the current posting schedule - 4 items per week; theme poll on second Monday; compendium release on fourth Monday. Aside from life events, it seems to work for me.

UPCOMING CONTENT

  • Patron Goal - Cosmos Adventure. Since hitting the 50-patron goal, I've been planning a short adventure for the Cosmos. The first thing to come out of this would be a text-only playtest version (similar to Cosmos v6041.2), and the final compendium version including both patron goals will be released later. I want to make sure patrons get access to the bulk of the content ASAP.
    I'd like to run the adventure a couple times before publishing - with new rules and monsters, I need to be sure the foundational balance is strong. I plan to draw a couple maps/images for these and I don't have much time between life events and spending all my time on the other compendiums. I may do a one-month billing/content freeze to get this done (and take a good break), possibly March or April.

  • February Poll. A couple poll options for February will return, which includes the Cosmos! It's been a year since the last Cosmos release and I promised I would revisit it.

OTHER

  • Feedback. If you have any ideas, comments, requests, or suggestions for what I can do, feel free to leave a comment!

  • Growth. I'm working on social media on Twitter, Instagram, and Reddit. If you haven't, please follow me there and spread the word! Instagram just changed their algorithm which appears to disfavor artists, so give your favorite creators some love too!
