Development Update 22
Life starts to get busy once more.
I'd like to think that I will still find more than enough time to work on the game, but we will see. Fact is, I now have a priority (with unknown time consumption) that's higher up then game development.
This means that there will be weeks where I can't work on the game, but then there might also be weeks where I can focus 90% of my time on it. My first priority is highly irregular and a bit unpredictable.
But don't worry, I also have some good news. I'm done writing the next update. The first draft, that is. I'm currently waiting for it to be ripped to shreds by my favorit critique. And maybe it deserves that, but maybe I for once wrote a flawless script and everything is fine. You never know.
Tbh, I love this guy. He always gives me over 100 good suggestions on what to improve. I only manage to incorporate 10 or so, but it still makes the game a whole lot better. I'd say that it's normal, but as the writer, I sometimes fail to take a step back and look at the script objectively. This third person perspective (from someone that knows way more about writing than me) is great.
Anyway, leaving my masochistic tendencies aside, today's render is obviousely a shower, right? Wrong! It's a unisex shower! There is a big difference *wink*
^^ Do with that what you want. I'm not going to spoil too much.
A bit over a month ago, I've published two different preview image in my Discord. One reveals another environment, and the other reveals a new outfit for Megan. I didn't want to post them anywhere else, since it was at a time where Episode 4 wasn't released yet and showing off Episode 4.5 might cause confusion.
So, what can I tell you about the next update? It's about 13.000 words long (fuck, that's huge... said nobody ever (But it's longer than the last update)). I've done 0 renders, 0 animations, but I copied the spoken text into the code, so people other than me can read it.
When I write I usually don't bother writing down who says what. It's in my head, and that's enough. But when I add the text to the game, I have to "programm" in which character is speaking. After that, even people other than me, can understand what's going on. I haven't done it yet, but if I send the people helping me with the game the file that only has all the spoken text without noting who is speaking, they would probably laugh coldly, and ghost me for a solid month.
If this post gets 150 likes I'll do the thing mentioned above as an April fools joke.
But that's it from me. I'm not sure when the next update is going to come out. Let's just say that it's still going to be a while, and leave it at that.
Keep your eyes open for future updates.
Until then, Enjoy!
