Development Update 20

Are you all sitting down? No? Well, it can't be helped. Try not to faint, then.

Since finishing Episode 3.5, I've not only written a bit over 12,000 words, I also did over 50 renders for Episode 4.

^^ For refference. That's a good months worth of creativity I was able to muster up, there.

Since the early access release, my Steam numbers have been going down month by month. That's to be expected. The problem is that even updates and sales don't do much to bring those numbers up. It's the perfect opportunity to tell myself that if I wasn't such a bitch I would keep working. If I worked more, then there would be more updates, more excitement, and the numbers would stay up.

That stuff is almost as motivating as a David Goggins video. (It works, so please don't ask if I have self esteem issues)

Burnout? Who cares about such minor details?

Jokes aside. I had a very productive week... Which is unusual since I normally experience a creative drop right after releasing an update. I will try riding this high as long as possible. Wish me luck, so it doesn't fade away too quickly. Right now, work doesn't feel tiring, and I can easily pump out 20-30 awesome renders a day. I think I did 40 easy ones yesterday, and 10 hard ones today. I couldn't wish for more.

The next update will have some nice conversations. It will be a bit about Fiona, a bit about Tracy, a bit about Aurora, and a bit about Lucy. It basically has a bit of everything.

Maybe it's a bit easier to produce than the last one and that has something to do with the speed I'm able to get through this. Could be. I'm also in a flow state, that's for sure.

Anyway, that's all I have to say for now.

Keep your eyes open for future development updates.

Until then. Enjoy!

as a rule of thumb for steam, know that you get 2 peaks for a game. the first is when you go into early access. the second is when you release a finished product. other than that, it'll only fall, sometimes like a feather, sometimes like rock.

Yes, I heard about that. I realize it's nice to have such problems, but my early access release was relatively smaller to that of other devs with comparable games so I hoped A Foreign World either picks up or has a slow fall. The first didn't happen yet, and I have no idea about the second. I guess the actuall release will shed some light on this but there is still a long way to go until then. Anyway, thanks for reminding me about this.
