Development Update 12
It's the first of April, which means you might have already read a bunch of non-serious posts by other developers. It might be refreshing to hear that this isn't one of them. I'm glad to say that if I ever want to pull a prank on my audience, I wouldn't limit myself to just this one day in the year.
Now, what is there to say? I hope you like the new first image of A Foreign World. I've received some feedback indicating that I haven't been able to convey my story properly. Either the delivery is off, or the characters act on motivations that the reader doesn't know because they've never been mentioned, or there are just plain plotholes. By now, I know that my story has it all.
I found someone who is kind enough to point all of that out. It really helps to make the story better, but it also means that I have to change a few things, and this takes time.
Sadly, Episode 3 of A Foreign World might be delayed even further.
I'm doing my best so this doesn't happen. That's why I'm going to cut this post short and go back to writing.
Here is something I made. I think this is a great way to start of A Foreign World, but I'd like to hear from people that disagree.
Keep your eyes open. I might release a rework of Episode 2.5 soon.
Until then, Enjoy!

Thank you for this update! The line about not limiting yourself to one day a year did prompt a laugh out loud. Otherwise, I was rather shocked to read about what others had to say regarding your story. I suppose now, my praise will sound like brown nosing, but I've thought it was amazing! The MC comes across as a Sherlock Holmes might be like as an action hero (minus the drug addiction). I loved reading how the MC calmly and logically put things together, and consistently did the right thing (or rather the option for the reader/player was there) and the sheer scope of his contacts. The girls' reactions to him and his apparent altruism was a nice mix ranging to both ends of the emotional spectrum. He does not come across as an emotionless robot just going through the motions, but someone who has been through a few hard things and knows how act during them. Nor is he alone, the supporting cast is wonderful on both sides of the rift and you have left me wanting to read more and play more to watch the process of healing of a group who clearly has been through rough times and this means not just on the other side of the rift. I'm not a professional critic, I'm sure the comments made that have led to your conclusions were well thought out and have merit. I do want to say, you have hit the mark of what I was looking for when I picked up your work and look forward to when you deliver the next part. Thank you very much for an amazing experience! (And no, this is not a prank either.)
The feedback I received is 90% positive (except on Steam). The guy I'm working with is awesome. He has a lot of constructive criticism. I love the story of A Foreign World and want to do it justice. This means I'm trying to improve as a writer. The game will be awesome when it's done. :D Thank you for your nice words.
