Development Update 65

Hey guys,

I have good news. Well, I have a bunch of good news. They've been stacking up lately. I'm not sure how much I've communicated already, so I'll cover it all. Let's get the obvious things out of the way first. Episode 9 is going to release this Friday. Usually the full release comes two weeks after the beta drops and it seems I can stick to that once again.

Honestly, I'm not 100% sure what Episode 9 was about. I could check, but where is the fun in that?

It hasn't been that long that I worked on it, right? How can I forget what I myself wrote? The full version isn't even out. Well, I lied. It's about Aurora. But also not really... for me it kind of has been a while since I worked on that update. I've been a good little workaholic and I'm proud to say: I didn't just finish Episode 9, but I also finished Episode 9.5... Two weeks ago. The day Epsiode 9 went into beta access. What I'm saying is that I have an entire update in my backpocket ready to be released.

But hold your horses. It's not happening quite yet. That would defeat the purpose of all the blood, sweat, and tears I've been putting in. No, I needed a buffer, and I worked hard to build one up. Episode 9 will come out this Friday and Episode 9.5 will enter beta access a few weeks later.

If you're asking yourself why I need a buffer, then you're asking the right question. I need that time to create a demo for my next game. It has to be done before the final release of A Foreign World, since I want to use the visibility of the last update to promote my next project. That means I need a steam store page and enough art to make people excited.

And oh boy... You'll definitely get excited when you see what I've been cooking up. I'm ridiculously happy with everything related to my next project. It's going to be amazing. From the story, the characters, the set up, all the way to the locations the game will take place in. All of it feels premium. It's not going to be as big a project as A Foreign World has been, but it also has no reason to hide.

I'll announce some more information when the store page is up on steam and you guys can put the game on your wishlist. Stuff like the premisse, possible love interests, or even just the title will be revealed at that point. If you don't want to miss that announcement, then Patreon is already a good place to be. For now you'll have to make do with two teaser images at the bottom of this post. They barely scratch the surface, though, so keep your eyes open for that announcement post.
