Development Update 55

Hey guys,

I wanted to write this post since Sunday, but I never really got around to do it. So Tueseday it is.

First of all, someone was a very naughty boy and leaked the last update on the day I put it up on Patreon. That's not cool. I have a suspicion that it might have been that one guy who went ahead and bought the post, instead of subscribing as a Patreon, but I don't want to point any fingers. Also it could literally be anybody else and I'm just suspicious of this new Patreon feature.

Well, even though it sucks, it's the current reality in this business.

And let's just say, he didn't even know how awesome the thing he stole was. Do you see the image that comes with this post? Seems familiar? Well it's a reworked version of the original image from the scene where the women have their bra size meassured. And even though (probably) nobody noticed, it was already part of the last update. Need a hint? The rope is now lying on the table instead of hovering in the air.

^^ Do you see what I did there? That was a damn good transition.

People had mixed feeling about the last update. Or maybe my perception is scewed because it's always mostly the ones that had an issue that leave their feedback. Idk, pre-selected sample, and stuff like that. Who cares... It's not like I studies that shit 😅.

The main problem wasn't even that the update felt a little short (mentioned once), but that the scene with Lucy and Tracy felt off (mentioned at least twice). Some said Lucy felt a bit out of character, and others said the animations look weird because Lucy isn't moving.

Let's at least clear up the lifeless animation problem. I realized that sex animations take up a lot more time than normal renders (duh), and even though I put a lot of effort in them they end up looking like shit anyways. So my idea is to make them simpler, which means I can produce them in 1/4th of the time. And hopefully they still look 2/3rds as good as the animations where I actually try hard.

Now here I'm open to be convinced. If people tell me that simple animations kill the immersion, then I can try and put more effort in. It's a porn game after all, and even though there is story, it shouldn't fail at getting people off.

And to the alegation that Lucy acts out of character. I don't think she does, and here I'm a little less open to be convinced otherwise. One thing I can suggest for the people that like Lucy a lot, they should try to get her solo scene. You get it by not sleepng with Tracy. I heard that it's closer to what people would expect a sex scene with Lucy to look like.

At this point there are two "hidden" sex scenes. One is with Tracy, when you chose not to sleep with her before you talk to Fiona, and the other is the one I mentioned above, where you get a solo scene between MC and Lucy if you chose not to be with Tracy.

I'm torn. Having them conditional on certain things felt naturally when I wrote the story, but I could also see the frustration of someone who doesn't want to do multiple playthroughs, but also not want to miss a good sex scene. So maybe I'll have to go back and tweak some things, and make it possible to see these scenes even when "you want to catch them all".

Idk, I talked a lot, but I haven't even mentioned my progress yet. Well, I was very sure that from now on every new update will be quite large. But I'm pleasantly surprised. The water park update had around 7k words, and it seems like the next one won't be too big either. I'm at 5k words and I'm "only" missing one more scene.

This might be something to be concerned about, if I only got these low numbers by cutting scenes, and neglecting certain aspects of the story. But I don't think that's what I'm doing. I'm actually quite happy with the text of the next update and yeah, I might be able to add some more, but I don't really have to. Why make things more complicated then they have to be?
