Friday Update - July 23rd, 2021

Friday! Friday! Woo! 

For starters, I wanna thank everyone who participated in the "Ask the Cast"! It's definitely something I'm going to want to do again, but that will be after Chapter Two is released so you all will have a bunch of new questions for the Mythos folks. 

It wasn't all just fictional interviews this week! I'm wrapping up the last bit of writing on "Ohmigod, You Guys!", and after that's all rendered I'm releasing my second beta build. While the testers are going through the new stuff, I'll finally... finally be coding the huge "Teri's Eleven" scene. Structuring the paths, mapping out where people will be for each plot point on each of those paths, thinking of jokes for each possible character combination... there was a lot of planning involved. I don't think it should take too long since I got all that pre-work out of the way, but we know how that goes. 

But wait! That's not all! A new addition is being made to Mythos, and is retroactively applied to Chapter One -- visual cues for sound effects. I play games muted, and I know I'm not alone in this. Not only that, but I want to make sure I'm not leaving out the hearing-impaired. Thus, when you hear sounds like Tara's truck horn or the doorbell ringing, there will be comic-book style words popping out as appropriate... it ended up looking a lot cooler than I thought it would.

It looks like there's no way for me to embed videos here, though -- so I've attached two examples below if you wanna see what that looks like.

I may have mentioned in the past that I've had an online DJ gig every Thursday. After much deliberation, I informed those folks that last night was my final DJ set, because I wanted to put even more of my attention into working on Mythos.  I know Chapter Two seems to be taking forever (or at least it feels like that to me), but I want it to be better than Chapter One.
