Jessica Lee: Good morning, Baltimore! We're here today with Cecil Turner for our next interview of Chapter Two characters in Mythos. Welcome, Cecil!
Cecil Turner: (Smiling into the camera)
JL: Mr. Turner?
CT: (Looking up at the lights)
JL: (Slowly reaches out to nudge Cecil)
CT: (Jumps) Hello, yes!
JL: Welcome! We're on the air.
CT: Oh, that's wonderful!
JL: Yes... Right... So, Cecil--
CT: Please, call me Cecil.
JL: I just... Okay, sure. Thanks for coming by today.
CT: Oh, it's my pleasure. I've always loved WJZ.
JL: This is WETT.
CT: Well, I'm sure that's fine too.
JL: Fantastic. So what can you tell us about yourself?
CT: Ah... I was born June 6th, 1925, the youngest of five children. My mother was a kind, though exhausted woman. My father was a machinist, which kept us doing pretty well when I was a child... Then World War II happened. I was just a teenager at that point, but it was still going on when I was old enough to enlist -- and enlist I did! While I was fighting in Europe, that's when my magic began to manifest.
JL: Ahh, your powers?
CT: Indeed! I was wise enough to not push my luck. I was untrained, but I used my abilities as well as I could to protect myself and my comrades... Subtly. They called me "Lucky" back then. Because they thought it was luck, see.
JL: Yes, I gathered that...
CT: But I saw some horrible, terrible things. I'm sure you know what was going on over there, but I assure you young lady; seeing it firsthand and fresh... Even now, those scenes are still burned into my memory.
JL: Oh, I can imagine...
CT: When I came back home, I found my house far too crowded for me to really look into these strange new powers, so I went out into woods. Glen Burnie was mostly woods back then, y'see. I went out there to see what I could do, but that's when I met Sunny.
JL: And who is Sunny?
CT: She was a... oh, you know her as Rain these days. Back then she was called "Sunbeams Through the Rain", so I called her Sunny. She didn't seem to mind. She saw me trying to do magic and wanted to help. But she's a Fae, you know -- her magic and mine weren't the same in some ways. So she came up with this plan... she'd use her trickster magic to guide any other mortal mages to me. I met a woman named Edda first, and then Edda introduced me to the Archmage Relmont and the Convocation. I tried to have Sunny brought in as well, but they're very strict about only humans having membership.
JL: So you're a mage of the Convocation?
CT: Oh, in 1972, Willie Relmont named me as his successor to become the next Archmage -- the head of the entire Convocation! He knew he didn't have long to live, and he was right... He died a week later.
JL: Being a Convocation mage, I can see how you can tie into the Mythos story.
CT: Indeed! Ky comes to our door looking for answers about poor little Lisa. It was awful, what happened to her.
JL: Truly it was. How did Ky even find their way to you? I assume the Convocation isn't listed in the phone book.
CT: I sure hope not! We'd get so many prank calls...
JL: That's not exactly the kinds of problems I'd think you'd worry about.
CT: Though as for how Ky finds us... I'm not allowed to say! Though I can say that it depends on the choices made.
JL: But no matter what happens, they will find themselves meeting you.
CT: Quite, quite. It should be a most enlightening visit. Nothing much is said about my personal history, though -- that's something you can only learn about here.
JL: Well, that's a treat for people who take the time to check out the interviews, isn't it?
CT: (Smiling blankly at Jessica)
JL: Cecil...
CT: Yes, please!
JL: I suppose we've reached the end of our time today, unless you have any final words for the players?
CT: Open the blank Lorebook!
JL: Pardon?
CT: Open the Lorebook before any entries are made!
JL: Ah, well... that's all the time we have for this week! Make sure to tune in next time (though maybe not next week) where we interview Rami of the band Area 42!
CT: I don't know if aliens are real, I'd sure like to meet one.
JL: Yes, I'm sure that would be great. Until then, keep the Legends alive!
CT: (Staring up at the stage lights again)
