Jessica Lee: Good evening, Baltimore! We're back in our home studio after extensive maintenance -- and so we can get right back to our interviews. Tonight we have another character that will be appearing in Chapter Two of Mythos! Becky Dav--
Becki (With An I): (Interjecting, while taking a selfie) With an I!
JL: Ah... beg pardon?
B(WAI): (Looking over her phone briefly) It's Becki with an I.
JL: Right... I'm here with Becki (With an I) Davenport. Welcome to the show, Becki.
B(WAI): (Back to taking selfies) Cool.
JL: Uh, so... Becki --
B(WAI): With an I!
JL: (Sigh) ... With an I. You're some sort of social media personality, yes?
B(WAI): I'm an influencer, but yeah.
JL: I see; so you garner a large following across your platforms?
B(WAI): (Cringing) I actually had an... incident where my old Insta got taken down because apparently I was like... posting things they thought were too lewd for the platform? It's whatever, I just made a new one. My new account is "bexfrombmore", be sure to follow me!
JL: ... Sure. So Mara is one of the main cast that had her introduction delayed until Chapter Two; are you another of the main cast?
B(WAI): I mean... I'm not gonna be on the title screen or anything, but you know I'm the star anyway, right?
JL: Perhaps from a certain perspective, I suppose. How are you being brought into the story, then?
B(WAI): (Finally putting down her phone to pay attention) Okay, so like... we went to high school, right?
JL: Who?
B(WAI): (Rolling her eyes) Me, Lisa, Tara, and Ky. What, did you think I was in a log cabin with Rain learning things like seven million years ago?
JL: (Somehow still managing to smile) I see, so you were close to that group.
B(WAI): Ew, no. Ky was a dork, Tara was a troublemaker, and Lisa was so stuck up, ohmigod. Like the dance troupe always acted like they were better than the cheerleaders because they were all artsy or whatever! So. Annoying.
JL: So you still seem to have some hostility toward Lisa...
B(WAI): I wasnt like... gonna go beat her up or anything, this was forever ago. But I never liked her. We're friends on Facebook, though.
JL: So you didn't have any contact after high school, other than online?
B(WAI): (Back on her phone) I mean, the friend request was about it, yeah. I like to watch the people I went to school with turn into losers.
JL: So you've been keeping up with Ky and Tara, despite not being friends with them?
B(WAI): I'm sure Tara isn't on social media. She probably still has a flip phone! Ky's gotten cute since then, though -- I guess Lisa actually made them get some sunlight or something.
JL: So being as you've not stayed in touch with any of them, what happens to pull you back in?
B(WAI): So, like... I run into Ky when they're on a date or something. They were having some kind of intense, quiet conversation in a diner with some old ginger lady.
JL: An old ginger lady?
B(WAI): Yeah, she looked like she was probably almost 30 or something.
JL: (Eye twitches) Right. So old.
B(WAI): But I was super sweet about it, and stopped by Ky's table to let them know I was sorry about their dead girlfriend or whatever.
JL: I'm sure you handled that in a very delicate way. So the entirety of your part in this is just meeting in a coffee shop?
B(WAI): Oh, no! It's weird, like... after seeing Ky in the coffee shop, I just felt like I needed to keep up. So I keep finding ways to pop up whenever I can.
JL: Well, I'd hate to spoil any more of your involvement with the story. Though Teri has said, quite often, that almost nobody in the game is a normal human. Is there anything that makes you special?
B(WAI): Excuse me? Have you seen me? What about me isn't special?
JL: Well, it looks like we're just about out of time--
Stage Manager: No, we're good!
JL: So we have to stop here.
Stage Manager: Oh... okay.
B(WAI): Oh, good, I'm dying for a frappe right now.
JL: Thanks for coming on the show, Becki.
B(WAI): With an I.
JL: Whatever. Come back next time when we meet miss Sylvia DuBois! Until then, I'm Jessica Lee with WETT, Channel 6 Baltimore. Goodnight, and keep the Legends alive!
