Introducing the Forces Sweetheart Dress
As some of you may know, I moved house this month and it took way more of my focus than I had anticipated! Meanwhile I'm also working with a new pattern grader, who is very thorough but works more slowly than others I've used. All that being the case I wasn't able to get this month's pattern out as early as I would have liked (I seem to be saying that a lot these last few months, but I hope you'll bear with me!) and I wasn't able to sew my sample version, so this pattern is untested.
With those caveats and without further ado, I'm delighted to introduce the Forces Sweetheart Dress! This is a faithful reproduction of an original early 40s Hollywood pattern, which I've given the Tuppence Ha'penny treatment, adding cup size variations and grading to a full size range.
Patriotism which was very much in vogue during World War II, and this button-through princess-seamed dress epitomises the war-time spirit, with V for Victory symbolism in the triangular patch pockets and short sleeve cuffs. The collar, pockets and cuffs can optionally be trimmed with bias binding to emphasise the V-shaping.
For a different look, omit the patch pockets (you could add the in-seam pockets from the Brunch dress pattern) and let printed fabric or novelty buttons take centre stage.
Note: This pattern is just for Patreon subscribers. Please do not share these downloads externally, so that I can keep creating exclusive new content just for Patrons!

I think I found an error in the pattern instructions. I've cut 1 collar as described on page 3 under Pattern Pieces. But I also need a collar facing (page 7) and that is not noted in the list.
Thank you for letting me know! I’ll correct the instructions. Luckily the cutting layouts do give you both collar and collar facing.
I just started the FB group. Please search for Tuppence Ha’penny Collective and request to join. I’m on my phone and can’t figure out how to share it across apps 😘
I found it and applied to join.
So pretty! Do you have a Facebook group for members?
I’m attempting to start one, I just haven’t had the time, yet. Definitely after Easter, but possibly before. I’ll keep everyone posted
I made a cross country move in February. I understand!
I thought it would be relatively straightforward, but it's surprising how much admin is involved and how much headspace furnishing a home requires! Congrats on your move :)
oh this is perfection! love the special details!
Yes! There's so much to have fun with :)
The little triangle pockets are so cute!
I agree! I can't wait to make this one once I've finished moving in and unpacking :)
So cute! I need one for working in the garden!
Oh yes, that will be perfect!
