Magazine: Everywoman January 1947
This issue of Everywoman magazine from January 1947 contains both good advice (what to do when you get a cold; how to carve a roast bird) and dubious fashion ideas (sweaters with interchangeable button-on sleeves, anyone?)
I need to do a series experimenting with some of the recipes from these vintage magazines - I'm particularly intrigued by the orange... custard? and 'creamed mince mould' featured in this issue.

I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy these magazines. My husband (who does the printing) is particularly fascinated by the advertisements. My slightly guilty pleasure---after anything to do with the fashions---is curling up at the end of the day with the stories.
I’m so glad you enjoy them! And I agree with your husband, sometimes I feel like the ads are an underappreciated highlight of vintage magazines - they say so much about the culture of the time ☺️
