Introducing the Fatale Dress
Make all your 1940s film noir dreams come true with the Fatale hooded dress! Hooded garments were a whole vibe in the late 30s / early 40s, and these styles tend to be highly coveted today - I for one am obsessed.
Based on an original 1940 pattern, this fully lined, princess seamed dress can be made with either button-through (view 1) or zipper (view 2) front closure.
Two sleeve options expand the styling possibilities even further: choose either a tailored two-piece long sleeve with darted shoulder, or short puff sleeve.
The oversize, rounded hood adds that classic femme fatale mystique, and optional shaped patch pockets complete the look. Add a colour pop with contrast pocket flaps and hood lining.
This versatile pattern lends itself to so many different looks - it will be is fabulous made as a coat dress or as loungewear; you could even lengthen the skirt for a glamorous eveningwear look in crepe or satin.

This is so cute! I was just saying I need more hooded things after moving to a place with windy dry weather and experiencing my first winter here. My face literally hurts when the wind hits it here.
oh em squee!!! i live for hooded patterns! this is moving to the top of my pattern to make pile! thank you! 💖
I’m glad you like hooded patterns, because there mayyyy be another one coming in the next few months 😉🤫
I had been rummaging through the major pattern lines for something I liked, to wear as a warm housegown on those mornings when a little extra cuddle-factor is needed, because most of the ready made offerings in my catalogs are either dowdy, have "cutesy" slogans, or are in childish animal prints. I don't understand what is so unreasonable about wanting to dress like a grown woman who still wants to look nice. Well, it seems my prayers are answered. Thank you. Also... evening coat..... coat coat?..... it's a dress.... mentally trying out all of the differing fabrics for different effects as dress....
I feel the same, and this is exactly why I love this pattern! Have fun 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is lovely!
