Introducing the Lorelei Set

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes was one of my favourite films growing up. I loved the story, the characters and the oh-so-glamorous, Travilla-designed costumes.

One of my favourite outfits is the travelling ensemble Marilyn's character, Lorelei, wears to board the ocean liner. This relatively understated outfit tends to get overshadowed by more showstopping numbers such as the red sequin gowns from the opening musical scene, and the iconic pink satin column gown for Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend, but the intricately draped dress, paired with leopard cape-stole and matching muff, is just pure chic and deserves a place in film history alongside the other iconic dresses Travilla created for Marilyn.
