Pregnancy in The Sims 4 is a huge life moment, but the people around your Sim can sometimes react like it is just another regular conversation. Baby on the Way: Family Reactions, part of my Baby on the Way series, adds more emotional, family focused pregnancy reactions so the news feels warmer, more personal, and a little more human.

With this mod, pregnant Sims can share their baby news with family and friends, and the reaction can depend on who they tell. A partner may feel deeply moved. A parent may celebrate becoming a grandparent. A sibling may realize they are becoming an aunt or uncle. A child may feel excited, unsure, or even afraid of being replaced.

Not every reaction is perfectly happy, because big family changes are not always simple. Some Sims are thrilled. Some need reassurance. Some children process the news through play, questions, stories, baby names, or quiet imagination.

What This Mod Adds

• A custom Share Baby News interaction.

• Relationship based reactions when the news is shared.

• Moodlets for partners, grandparents, aunts, uncles, close friends, acquaintances, and future big siblings.

• New pregnancy conversation interactions grouped under Baby on the Way.

• Child specific interactions for Sims who are about to become older siblings.

• Phone check-ins that can be sent even when Sims are on different lots.

• Random incoming pregnancy check-in text messages after sharing the news.

• Stuffed animal storytelling for children.

• Creativity skill gain from writing down baby names.

• A mix of sweet, playful, anxious, and emotional outcomes.

Requirements

• Place the package file in your Mods folder.

• XML Injector is required.

• Enable Custom Content and Mods in the game settings.

• Enable Script Mods.

Mod Compatibility

This mod uses its own injection, so it should not cause conflicts with any other mod. You will see two Share Baby News interactions, the Maxis one and mine, but choosing either one will trigger my mod.

Pregnant Sims

Pregnant Sims can share the baby news and then start conversations of their own. Once the other Sim knows about the pregnancy, 25 follow-up options let them ask for support, include their children, and share moments with partners, parents, siblings and friends.

Available options

• Share Baby News with someone close, familiar, or important to the story.

• Receive supportive check-in messages after the news is shared.

• Be checked on through phone text or phone call interactions.

• Receive baby bump interactions.

Conversations with a Partner

For a pregnant Sim speaking to a spouse, fiance or significant other who already knows about the pregnancy. Find these options under Baby on the Way.

Partners and co-parents get some of the warmest reactions. This role is about the pregnancy feeling shared, with interactions focused on support, planning, and emotional connection.

• React to Share Baby News with a partner-specific moodlet.

• Discuss parenting styles.

• Promise to be supportive.

• Discuss baby names and nursery plans.

• Use baby bump and phone check-in interactions.

When the pregnant Sim tells their own parents, the reveal becomes a grandparent moment. This category is designed for family saves where older generations react to the household growing.

Available options

• Receive Future Grandmother or Future Grandfather moodlets.

• Celebrate becoming a grandparent.

• Offer to help after the birth.

• Share a family pregnancy story.

• Suggest a family baby name.

Siblings and extended family can react as the family grows. These interactions work best for family storytelling because they let relatives respond with memories, suggestions, and support.

• Receive Future Aunt or Future Uncle moodlets.

• Suggest a family baby name.

• Offer help after the birth.

• Use general pregnancy check-ins once they know about the baby.

Friends and acquaintances can make the pregnancy feel known beyond the household. Their reactions are simpler than close family reactions, but they help the news travel through the Sim's social world.

Available options

• React as a close friend or acquaintance after Share Baby News.

• Ask about the baby.

• Send a baby check-in text.

• Call to check on the baby.

• Appear as possible senders for random incoming pregnancy messages.

Children to pregnant Sim and others

Children get the most playful and emotional set of options. These interactions are for child Sims who are preparing to become big siblings. They can be excited, curious, worried, imaginative, silly, or quietly unsure about the new baby, and some activities include visible timers, moodlets, or Creativity skill progress.

• Say hi to the baby.

• Promise to be a good big sibling.

• Worry about being replaced.

• Suggest a silly baby name.

• Imagine adventures with the new baby.

• Daydream about growing up together.

• Worry about things changing.

• Wonder if the baby will take their toys.

• Write down super cool baby names.

• Pick a bedtime story for the new baby.

• Tell a stuffed animal about the new baby.

Teens to pregnant Sim

Teens get future sibling moments with copy that fits an older Sim who may understand the pregnancy news in a more complicated way.

• Ask about the new baby with teen-specific copy.

• Promise to be a good big sibling with teen-specific copy.

• Worry about being replaced.

• Use pregnancy conversations available to teens.

• Use baby bump and phone check-in interactions.
