ShipCore: BLAZING! + Ep1 - Awakening
Alright, now we have an anime opening.
I sort of lost track of what I was supposed to be working on (Sigma 16) and ended up working on ShipCore again, reading through book two now, building a lore bible (because I need a better way to track everything), and then just couldn't help but get too excited.
So we also have Chapter 1 -> Anime Episode (short)
Hoping to get to writing on ShipCore book 5 very soon now, at least as soon as I have finished reading through the series!

Just as I finally picked this series back up after reading the first book a couple years ago, I've been binging them nonstop. So happy to hear about more Shipcore! The anime is a pleasant surprise as well

Good day, which AI/software did you use to create these videos? I find it very interesting and would like to try it myself.
The video is generated by Seed Dance 2.0 --To maintain visual consistency gpt-image-2 was used for reference art before doing any video. It's also used to storyboard/keyframe for the video generator.
Any idea when the fifth ShipCore book might be released? Even just wild speculation would be helpful.
it usually takes 6-12 months to get the book out after its submitted -- that countdown would start a short time after the webserial completes its A5 arc (you'll get the webserial chapters here and on royalroad first before the book)

About 16 hours from start to finish, started when I woke up and finished before going to sleep. Although you can't quite say it took 16 entire hours since I obviously did other stuff. One of the biggest slowdowns is that each AI generation takes about 10-20 minutes to process and you get two 15 second shots with that, of which you have to selectively cut/pull out what's usable and not. Some cycles / shots were so hard that even after 4-6 attempts I ended up just forcing it through. A lot of the weird/ai artifacts are directly related to just not being able to iterate on a part long enough. (Not all though, I only have basic video editing skills, a better editor could probably make the cuts much better.) So if instead of doing this 6 minutes in a day, it was done over a week the quality could be much higher.
It looks amazing and I love the fact ShipCore is getting animated. However, the ai generated animation is obvious to me. It's subtle, I'll admit, but it sends an unpleasant scratching sensation up my spine watching it. But again, it looks amazing and you did a great job with it. I do have some critiques for the things I see in the Ch1 short if you want to hear them and get them edited.
It's for sure not the best quality, and that's pretty much all on me. I basically did the video from start to finish over one day. Some shots I wanted/needed were so difficult to get the AI to do properly, that I ended up forcing them through by brute force.
That was an awesome episode, very well done, SO COOL!!!!
This is yet more proof that Indie is going to have a big part in the future of movies and
so... that was just a wee bit badass!

with regards to a lore bible, a graphical timeline with key historical points and where specific solar systems / space stations / planets / characters / ships become relevant, and how they evolve and change over time, when characters meet Parallel to that, a character relationship org chart to link with it would be good too, will also need to evolve with the timeline, though this will probably be way to much effort and work to do after having already written so much but would be cool to have :)
