Well fuck. Lucky finally identified Pix as the problem to his progress. Now when he snaps hes going to be far less likely to quit and more prone to forcing his own progress out of sheer spite. Even if he falls in line, its all going to have the opposite result of just yesterday.

I might overanalyze things here but on the poster we see Pix with a Fennekin and Chespin, but not Froakie. Two out of three starters from Kalos. And why is that? Froakie evolves into Greninja, a water DARK type. Even on the poster it is implied that dark types are not meant to be here and work for the future with others. Or you know... It means nothing and I'm overreacting.
Looks like Lucky smells foul play. Bad news for Pix, too. It's way harder to manipulate and sabotage someone once they start suspecting you.

I'll give Pix this: he knows the correct set of words to break Lucky's confidence, because what he said to him made my blood boil. While Pix managed to put his mask back on, he still let his true thoughts slip through; "especially what this means absolutely to me" blew his facade wide open, and naive as Lucky is, I think he finally caught on to Pix's true intentions. I'm interested to see what happens next because I feel things are about to hit a boiling point.

Pix forgets about one important thing, and what will others think if it turns out that he is not as perfect as he seems when it comes to training young scouts? It could have an even better impact on his reputation if he proved that he can even work with dark types, but what better way to clip Lucky wings and prove that every dark type is useless as the society thinks.
Unfortunately, Umbreon and other dark types are looked down upon. Plus, they're recruits. Pix's an icon and a sergeant. People will blame Lucky. At least the racists Pokémons will...
