There's a difference between "scolding" and "twisting the knife and salting the wound". This was the latter. She did NOT deserve this.
As the story progresses, Pix slowly begins to lose his grip—and the mask of perfection he spent so long crafting starts to slip. That reaction marks the first visible crack in the polished image he projects, and he slowly feels control slipping away from him. Pix is clearly someone who suffers from an excessive need for control—whether over himself or others. The mere fact that Lucky is late for the first time sends him into a slow-burning panic—not out of concern for Lucky, but over the control he holds over him. Really looking forward to seeing what happens next.

You were honest, Pix, that's what you did. It looks like my assumption of Pix getting just as much pressure as Lucky was correct; he's struggling to keep up the mask he always wears for his audience, and the real Pix is starting to come out. My eyes rolled when Bella kept trying to get into Pix's good graces, leading to genuine annoyance when she started putting down Lucky, who Pix said it wasn't up to him. I'm actually kind of worried about what will happen when Lucky and Pix next meet because I feel it's going to get messy.
Even if real evolution stones don't exist in universe, its interesting that they still exist as a myth/con item
It’s interesting Pix has never referred to Lucky by his name even in his own thoughts. It’s just the umbreon to him. He just doesn’t see Lucky as someone who even deserves respect to be referred by his name so sad.

Well pix actually thinks his plan succeeded here. He thinks lucky must have quit, and he gets angry when someone is talking shit about lucky so I think you might be a little off. Even if he pretends he wants lucky gone its clear now he doesn't.
