[Status Report #3] MBML Chapter 2 - Episode 3

About 80% of September went straight into writing. If you're wondering why the render count didn't move much, that's why. I was neck-deep in scripts, scenes, and dialogue for most of the month.
I usually have writers who handle the spicier scenes, but lately I've been taking those into my own hands too. This episode is my first crack at writing a threesome, and I'll be honest: it took longer than expected because I really wanted to get it right, but I'm genuinely happy with where it landed.
There's a scene in this update set in a place from the characters' childhood that I think might end up being a personal favorite. It's probably the most personal thing I've written for MBML, and one of the most relatable (probably). You'll know it when you see it.
As for teasing: the characters ring in the New Year this episode. It's not an enormous scene, but it's beautiful. I asked each of them a simple question (without spoiling too much, it's something along the lines of... what they think of themselves). Some of their answers genuinely messed me up to write. When you've spent years building these people from scratch, watching who they were lined up against who they are now hits really close to home. It's been a long road. They grew. I grew with them. 🥲
On the production side, I immediately went back to renders once the writing settled and knocked out around a hundred of them, plus a couple of animation bits. Nothing record-breaking, but it's a steady pace. The plan for the rest of this month and into next is to keep the render moving until everything I've written for Sky's arc is rendered out. After that, Naomi's arc is the last piece.
On a personal note, I've been actively taking my rest days seriously. Usually when I say "I'm resting," I'm still tinkering with something in the background. Adjusting a render, or maybe tweaking a dialogue line while telling myself it's not real work. I've been trying to stop that. The pressure of the game approaching its final stretch is REAL. Making sure nothing is messed up still weighs me down even when my computer is off. But I'm learning that stepping away from it for a day actually makes the work better when I come back. Revolutionary concept, right? 😂

I know this might not be the right place to mention this, and it’s probably too early to bring it up. Still, I wanted to share my thought. I hope that when you work on your third project, you could give Sica some attention. Even just a little bit would make me really happy. Sica’s story means so much to me. It’s one of my favorite works, ranking 5th on my personal list. Thank you for your amazing creations, I’ll keep supporting you.
I feel the game is winding down to a conclusion soon and that, in a way, is both bitter and sweet. I like this game so much to the point that I don't want it to end. 😅 But then again, I tell myself that it will be nice to see Sicae get your full attention after this is done. So it's not ALL bad I guess... lol
To be honest, not sure what I'm gonna do yet after this is all done. I'm gonna rest first, that's for sure. Clear my brain. Fully reset.

I have to say something. I was bullied by girls a lot in high school. It was some what my fault, and I changed who I was because of it, but it still resonates with me. For that reason, I have paid attention to, but never looked beyond the title of this. I figured that the story would probably get past the trauma, but I just didn't want to find out. Then last week I decided what the hell. If it's that recommended I might as well try it. I am so glad I did. The writing of this is unbelievable. Very emotionally charged. I am a harem story lover and this is one of the best ones I ever read. Out of the over 200 AVNs I have collected, this one is easily top 10, maybe top 5. I loved the Eternum references too. Well done. Take care of yourself, but don't keep us waiting too long for the next update.

I'm very happy you're taking your days off seriously, especially since you're doing more writing now. I know how much I get emotionally involved in the game, I can only imagine how much making it affects you. I know I say this all the time, but you are incredible.
Thanks! Honestly, it's probably because I'm really nervous about how the game ends, and it's coming up soon. 😅 Plus, there isn't much precedent to look at. Sure, there are a few completed AVNs out there, but knowing how it ends, nothing compares to what we're doing here. MBML doesn't pull its punches. If you've been following, you already know that. 😂
