A Fragment From the Other Side — The Beginning

In the beginning, there was a cycle,
but the living devoured what was not theirs
and named it eternal, never what eternity would demand.

The garden raged.

Four who were ordained to shepherd became the deluge.

Now the promised land doth bear what refused to perish.
And the world that inheriteth the dead knoweth not what it yet carries.

A door standeth between what lives and what remains.
And something on the other side...
... hath begun its knocking.
