Two maps featuring slums and street fights with barricades [30x40 and 40x60] (free version)

Does your world have a class-based society where ownership structures create fundamental and conflicting differences between the ruling class and the ruled? If so, your world and your adventure will benefit from a visit to the slums that arise from these circumstances.

Ideas for this map:

- You can use these maps multiple times as the starting point and hub for interconnected quests. Perhaps a serial killer is lurking in the alleys here, and gangs are fighting over territory. Furthermore, essential food keep disappearing from the guarded markets, so that even if the poor could afford the exorbitant prices, there wouldn’t be enough for everyone. This district is a place of misery, hunger, disease, violence, and ultimately despair.

- The local authorities’ enforcement forces rarely venture into this area. But when they do enter the slums, it is as disciplined units carrying out brief punitive raids to punish the crimes of poverty emanating from the district.

- When the basic material conditions necessary for survival become difficult or impossible for groups of people to obtain, unrest will ensue. Perhaps there has been a crop failure, and wholesalers are hoarding their supplies, further exacerbating the shortage in order to drive prices even higher. Conflicts will continue to escalate. What will your heroes do when they see that the residents are responding to the recurring raids by the enforcers by storming the guarded local market and erecting barricades? Or have they organized the resistance themselves?
