Patreon Billing Issue

We noticed that a LOT of you may no longer be active Patrons as of the 1st...
More than 100 of you... We've been trying to determine what happened and we have learned that this is actually a Patreon-wide issue, not just an "us" thing.
We received this email from Patreon HQ and wanted to share it as more than 5% of our supporters have vanished overnight. As you can imagine, this was a bit of a shock to us. We understand that it is not something that Patreon can fix, as it has more to do with updates to banking and payment systems, but as indie creators we always try to be upfront about issues.

Hi there,
An issue with a payment partner is causing a slightly higher-than-normal number of your patron payments to be declined by their banks. We've traced the increased declines back to payments system upgrades required by one of our processing partners. Patrons might see some payments declined while changes take effect.
If a patron reaches out to you about a decline, you can advise them to follow these steps:
Contact their card issuer to confirm the charge is valid and retry that card
If the retry does not work, try a different payment method. Patrons can edit their payments in their Settings, under Billing History:

Oh for Pete's sake. I have to go membership my membership to retry the payment and resubscribe. You're #2. Oh well, at least it wasn't only me.
I checked with my bank. I am good on my end. This is all on Patreon's end. I will try and resubscribe

I’ve been trying to get the payment through for a couple of days but finally managed to succeed last night. I kinda thought it was just me but wasn’t able to figure out what the issue was. It is a bit of a relief that it wasn’t just me and hopefully it’ll run smoothly from now on

Might I suggest to also post this to the discord server? The affected patrons apparently also automatically unfollow their creators so they might not even be aware and not be notified of this post either :c

My billing tried to go through Ireland this month (normally goes via New York) and threw flags up with my bank.
If we got the notification for this, we're safe, I suppose?
