Entry 206 is off to Mix
Entry 206 is (and will be) the most difficult episode to create in Season 2 in terms of audio complexity.
After spending the last four weeks on just this episde, it's finally off to Strader for mixing... We ended up with over 60 tracks, 7 of which were just various ambience effects from howling wind to various room tones (lightbulb sounds, rattling air conditioners, etc). Even with the extra two weeks to work on it (the 'How To Make an AD Podcast' episode was partly a stall tactic ;) ), it STILL didn't feel like enough time to finish it.
The most time consuming bits were probably "any action sequences" that might be present in the episode and "any scene that involved numerous background characters" (pretty much the entire episode).
One last small secret for you guys: George Lowe (Space Ghost) is actually one of the uncredited background voices in the first scene!
I used one of his outtakes from an upcoming thing he's working with us on that fit perfectly.
Here's to a much simpler (though no less enjoyable) rest of the season!
