My nephew told me about The White Vault. I kept forgetting about it. So I finally remembered and started listening. I was hooked right away!!
Glad to have you as a listener!
Liberty: Critical Research was my first intro to F&S and I really liked it. However, TWV truly hooked me and is my favorite fictional podcast of all podcasts from anywhere. It's the reason I became a patron. Love all your work and creativity and I just love you as creators and good people too :)
Critical Research was the first thing of yours I ever checked out and it hooked me right away. I understand nothing of D&D and don’t generally like actual play ADs but the world you’ve created is fascinating and I’m so so eager to hear more, no matter what the format. Then again, you’re one of the few AD creators whose new shows I can listen to without a doubt because I know and trust you’ll deliver.
Found the White Vault through the recommended listening on Spotify after I finished binging the Magnus Archive. I have listened to everything and am currently almost caught up on Dark Dice.
Definitely started with Liberty: Critical Research, probably in early 2017. Can't remember exactly how I found it, might have been on a "Best Fiction Podcasts" list? Enjoyed all the others except Dark Dice, which for me didn't rise above the crowded field of fantasy RPG podcasts. I don't generally enjoy horror stories, there has to be a lot more to it than being scary or I'll put it down. I keep listening to your shows like The White Vault and Tales from the Tower because they're different stories with unique setting, interesting plot, and complex characters -- I want to know what's going to happen next. The high production quality and great acting are impressive and appreciated, but aren't what keep me coming back.
White Vault got me hooked, but I quickly discovered Vast Horizon and binged through both podcasts. Then I discovered Liberty and couldn’t get enough. Dark Dice didn’t peak my interest until I heard Dumbgeons and Dragons mention it on their podcast. All of them are amazing productions.
VAST Horizon was the first show of yours that I heard and therefor was the first to hook me; however, I have now listened to everything you have done (at least I think so), and now in retrospect I can say that whatever was the first thing I heard would’ve been the first to hook me
I heard an ad for the White Vault on another audio drama and decided to check it out. I gave it a shot, and was hooked!
I saw the White Vault in my recommended, gave it a try, and have been hooked since. Just started Liberty and am really enjoying it.
I started listening to you guys when you first started Liberty: CR. NoSleep was talking about it and said it was a sci-fi podcast and I was sold!
My first experience with fool and scholar was Vast Horizon, then White Vault, and Liberty. The anthology style tales from the tower is nice to have, and I really liked Critical Research. I was disappointed when Vigilance turned out to be a role playing thing and not the same sort of story as Critical Research. Tales From the Tower was more enjoyable for me during the first season, but lost some it's appeal when Peter Lewis took over as the "media director". It feels a bit too campy with him, almost like he's the Crypt Keeper, and it detracts from the world of the story. No offense to Peter Lewis, but his voice is just too unique to be used so often.
I first heard about The White Vault on a convention in Poland (Pyrkon 2018). By far the best Lovecraftian podcast I have heard.
I think it was from The Magnus Archives
I think that was Rusty Quill.
Dark Dice was exactly what I was looking for in a DND podcast and just didn’t know it until I stumbled upon it. I’m really not sure how I came across it anymore, perhaps NoSleep? No matter how I got here, I’m so glad I found Dark Dice and I eagerly await the end of season one.
Started with TWV, but rather love Dark Dice!
Oh,I kinda Love David Alt's voice!!
The white vault grabbed me, but I'm kinda a sify fan,so Vast Horizons hooked me.
White vault via Old Gods. I really liked Vast horizons after I crushed what had been available of White Vault at the time. The extra story lines of white vault are definitely what sealed the deal on support (although, now it's gonna be hard to stop- need to keep food on Eezo's plate!) White Vault is the only pod cast I can ever say in the same breath as OGoA!
White Vault showed up in my recommended feed when I was looking for new horror podcasts to enjoy! The first episode had just come out and I was instantly hooked by the premise and the characters~ Best. Podcast. Find. Ever!
Hi guys thanks for your continuing brilliance with the writing and production. I can not wait to see what the new equipment will bring. I got I to your shows through an ad while listening to Marsfall. Keep up the work. Cheers from the UK.
I play an RPG similar to D&D but horror oriented called The Call of Cthulhu. The White Vault was mentioned in a Facebook group for the game while we were discussing excellent Lovecraftian podcasts to listen to. I usually support podcasts for a month or two to support creators and then stop because I'm not crazy rich. BUT, Travis took the time to recognize that my email was named for my favorite character, Locke, from my favorite game, Final Fantasy 6, AND sent a personal thank you video, playing the theme song, on THE MOST AWESOME ACCORDION, that had actual art from the game. That personal touch made me decide to sub a bit longer, which led me to listen to all of your other productions. The effort you guys put into your work is self evident and I decided to stay a patron because I want you to be able to keep at it.
I found you guys by doing searches on Google for horror podcasts and the white vault was listed.
Found you guys based on a recommendation in the r/audiodrama subreddit after I’d caught up during Season 2 of The Magnus Archives and was looking for another horror podcast to listen to. After that I started listening to Liberty and I’ve been a die hard F&S fan ever since. 😁
Also I am convinced the Svalbard section of White Vault is The Dark from Magnus getting up to shenanigans and no one will ever convince me otherwise. 😁 🌑
TWV hooked me, VH is amazing. Liberty is a rollercoaster, with amazing bits and a bit too much cannibalism for me. DD . . . and its competitors do not seem to be my kind of thing
I decided to listen to The White Vault after getting it recommended by The Magnus Archives and Alasdair Stuart
I also got here via The Magnus Archives.
Like a lot of folks I found you through the White Vault originally. I try out a lot of podcasts, but most are not my thing (and that's ok). I knew some of the voice actors from No Sleep, so I knew the acting quality would be great, and so was the story. Big fan of Tales From the Tower and VAST as well!
I'd been listening to The White Vault, but it was really VAST Horizon that sucked me in for good.
I was talking with a friend about the Magnus Archives, and he recommended The White Vault.
The only podcast I had really kept up with was Welcome to Nightvale. I started looking around and stumbled across The White Vault. The musical episode is by far my favorite, but I love the whole series. I think I've listened to all the Fool and Scholar Productions except Dark Dice.
If you’re not a fan of DND I get it, but Dark Dice is low key some of the best horror and just writing in general. I highly recommend you give it a chance.
Love it all! But kept hearing advertisements for The White Vault on many of my go-to podcasts and decided to give it a try. Glad I did!
I heard a recommendation for The White Vault from another podcast but I am not sure which one. The White Vault is my favorite podcast from F&S and Vast Horizons is a close second.
I think I heard the first episode of The White Vault as a recommendation from The Old Gods of Appalachia on Spotify.
My sister recommended The White Vault to me and it sat as a tab on my phone for two(?) months until I finally gave y’all a listen! And then I got at least 5 other people into White Vault and 2 of those people got into Dark Dice.
The White Vault > Liberty: Critical Research >Vast Horizon > everything else—LOVE the writing and depth of audio story telling!
That was my journey too ☺️
Started with the white vault but love research.
I was cruising YouTube and was intrigued by the art work for The White Vault. After reading the plot description I gave a listen to Season 1 episode 1 and was hooked on F & S Productions. My loyalty was cemented after listening to Tales from the Tower and Iluka. The quality of the productions is phenomenal. I'm proud to be part of the Patreon community that supports your work. Thank you!
White Vault > Dark Dice > everything else. I danced around the various Liberty stuff until I heard the actual play and explored everything else. I think originally the author Gemma Files shared a list of good podcasts and TWV was on it.
The first Liberty run, sorry I can't remember which one that was called. I heard a shout out on The No Sleep Podcast. White Vault and Vast Horizon are my favs.
I think it was either Alex J Newall from Rusty Quill or Alasdair Stuart from Pseudopod that I heard recommend The White Vault as one of the best examples of slow burn audio horror. Needless to say, I listened to season one and was hooked. I then went back and listened to season one of Critical Research and I've been hooked on all your shows since.
I heard The White Vault recommended when The Magnus Archives posted the recording of a late 2019 panel on horror podcasts.
Found Liberty: Critical Research before The White Vault (through a blog “best fiction” post), but TWV made me search out (and subscribe to) everything about you.
That’s basically what happened for me. But I stumbled across vast horizon before I looked into fool and scholar
I think I found TWV by chance when you were like two or three episodes in to the first season. Then I did Liberty ---> Vast. KA is a phenomenal world builder and story teller. I also really like the casting choices! TWV season 1/2 crew had fantastic chemistry.
I love sci-fi audio dramas and I listened to Vast Horizon and loved it. VH drove me to support you on Patreon and then listen to White Vault (which I obviously love). But I still love VH just slightly more. I may be in the minority here!
Me and you - Vast Horizon natives!
The White Vault via OGoA's recommendation video on YouTube. Was stuck without most of my things after a move and was limited in my entertainment options. You were a goddamn balm for those weeks.
There was a White Vault on the Penumbra Podcast that got me intrigued. So glad that I checked y'all out!
Got hooked on White Vault which lead me to Critical Research and I couldn't escape being a fan of y'alls.
I somewhere heared of the White Vault in another podcast (very likely Haunted Places by Parcast or Be Scared) and stayed with it. I even more enjoy the Dark Dice stories, as I'm a huge fan of pen and paper RPGs, and I wish I could've found a party to join when I moved last March, but then the lockdowns happened.
White Vault... but if I'd happened to hear VAST Horizon first then that'd have hooked me too! I love the gradually revealing story, building horror, use of languages. Very excited to hear you have more ideas in the pipeline. Oh and Happy New Year!
White Vault by way of either TMA or OldGodsPod.
Hey Fam
ya a friend said the white vault terrified them and we’re both huge horror junkies so I had to see if it was true and by god! Podcast threw me into those Svalbard caves! Can’t thank you enough for scaring the crap out of me with such wonderful storytelling and characterization 💝
