Music: Funeral Rite of Celegon

Any opportunity I have to create pretty music I will most certainly take. Hem and Eyþór were kind in not only writing a strong base for this song and singing it, but in allowing me to re-arrange it, and sing it again in the new tune, with the harp backing. This is an actual harp performance, and I'm really proud of how nicely this turned out. We might be down a hero, but I feel that with this song their passing will be remembered.

Written and Performed (with lyrics) by Eyþór Viðarsson & Hem Cleveland

Lyrics:

Sól af austurstraumi stígur,
stafar geislum djúpin blá,
dagsins himnesk drottning flýgur
dýrðleg gullnum vængjum á.

dimma grímu geisli hrekur,
glaður kyssir dal og hól;
alla þjóð til orku vekur
eilíf – fögur morgunsól.
eilíf – fögur morgunsól.

Sun of the eaststream lane,

The rays emit a deep blue.

Today's heavenly queen flies,

On glorious golden wings and a dark mask beaming radiant light.

Happy kisses fall on valleys and hills,

And all nations will awaken,

To the eternal beautiful morning sun.
