Favorite F&S Podcast

No contest for me. Dark Dice could not be further up my alley if it knocked on my back door and shouted "Dah haff wick Mah" in my face.

Really hard to pick a favorite. On a particular day of the week, a different one could be #1! You do a tremendous job of exploring unique universes.

I liked Dark Dice the most. I can't seem to find episode 5 or 6 though, one of them might be missing from my RSS feed. To be honest your worst work is still miles above the competition - I look forward to watching your output grow in depth and sophistication without also disappearing up its own butt (Magnus Archives)

I first discovered F&S through an ad on No Sleep for White Vault. Some research uncovered a comment stating "if you love Lovecraft, you'll love the White Vault." Lovecraft's my favorite author so I was immediately in. The first episode grabbed me and I thoroughly enjoyed season 1. I tried Liberty but it just didn't satisfy me. Vast Horizon is wondrous. And The Narrow was a terrifying tale.

I started with Liberty and got onto TWV through there. I can't tell you how much I love TWV. The slow burn, the different voices, I'm so hooked on the mystery. It's not only my favorite Fool and Scholar, it's in my top three favorites of all narrative podcasts I listen too (which is a lot). I like Tales from the Tower a lot. To me, the second season seemed more polished. I really enjoyed the Liberty RPG and echo sentiments craving a story about the Liberty world beyond horror/short-stories...more along the Critical Research style. I'm so fascinated by the flashbacks in Vast Horizon...I hope we get to learn more about the world Nolira's fleeing :) DD is just "okay" for me, I kind of liked the funnier RPG in Liberty but that's personal taste. Take away: I am addicted to The White Vault and I need some serious intervention to quell my craving for more...I might need some time off to grieve when it ends.

What brought me into the Fool and Scholar ethos, believe it or not, was Critical Research and the rich material of the Liberty universe. The Liberty stories remain my favorite. I love White Vault and Vast (I personally don’t go for the RPG stuff), but I’d love to hear more from Liberty.

I tried to choose one just because I think it might show more meaningful data. I am loving VAST Horizon. I also really like White Vault, and I enjoyed binging Liberty, but the lost-in-spaceness of VAST is working for me.

I love Liberty sooo much and wish I could get my friends to listen to it.. I love all the things you produce but Liberty without a doubt is my favourite.. the rough Sci-fi world that's harsh and both morally and psychologically interesting.. It also reminds me of my Ancestors who's tribes killed each other off and ate them... So maybe I'm just nostalgic xD

There is overwhelming support for the White Vault and it is not unfounded. I for one do love horror and the White Vault is classic, undiluted representation of horror at its finest. The Dark Dice being of a different genre namely fantasy may not appeal to a wider cross section of listeners. Those who do love Dark Dice as do I probably regard it as a diamond in the rough.

The White Vault because it was the first one that I heard about thanks to a voiceover artist who was a part of the show. She posted about when you first started with Liberty but I didn’t know at the time how I was able to listen to it so I didn’t bother trying to found out how I would listen to it. But when she posted about the White Vault and posted the link on the show I knew I had to check it out, I couldn’t stop listening to it when I started and was going crazy when I had to stop listening (because I didn’t know could download it) but I fell in love with it. And thought that was the only one then when VAST came out I listened to that and couldn’t wait for more. And Liberty was the last show I listened to. It was great. I can’t wait for season 3 for The White Vault! I’m so excited! 🙂

Dark Dice let me rediscover my love for P&P RPG. And TWV was my first one of your podcasts. So these two are my favorite ones. Not saying I don't like the other ones, too.

Hard to choose - Liberty was my first and I love Tales from the Tower (dystopian sci-fi horror!). However, Vast Horizon may be your technically best show (the ship feels so real from a sound-editing perspective), and the two main voice actors absolutely bring so much life to an incredible script with very inventive world-building.

I discovered The White Vault via an ad on another podcast.. and I've been hooked since. The sound design is amazing, and the fact that you combine separate recordings from each of the voice actors into a single smooth experience is mind boggling. I'm caught up with VAST, and just started Liberty... It's been said already.. but your work is just plain awesome!

I discovered you with Liberty, but fell in love during and started subscribing for White Vault. Since you’re asking for feedback, I will give some, but I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings! In the Liberty world, I loved the real-play stuff, but not Tales from the Tower. I think that world’s history could be tapped more, so I would love a “show” (not short stories). I thought I would love Dark Dice like I liked the Liberty real-play podcast, but it’s not resonating with me yet. I think it would be better to binge later instead of listening and waiting (and forgetting). But, just keep up the good work! We are here supporting you because we do enjoy what you’re making!!!

I have to choose? The white vault attracted me to you first but after getting here I really do like liberty horizon and dark dice....

Well.. I voted for all four. However, my favourite is Liberty. I love that world and while listening, I was easily able to visualize the whole environment.. Maybe its because the world was so grim and yet beautiful.. Maybe its because I love good horror anthologies.. Maybe I am a finger afterall.. I would absolutely love to know more about it(but i get it, you guys are working way too hard on other stuff already).. I love VH and TWV too.. I never had a chance to play DnD so dark dice and vigilance were hard to follow at first. Though once i got used to DD, I enjoyed it a lot(m still only on ep. 4). Vigilance was much more exciting(of course I pretended to be a finger halfway through!).. You both are my favorite creators.. So just keep making stuff as long as you can.. O man.. This comment is wayy too long... I should probably stop writing now.

Ahhhh what to choose??? I love the expansive world of Liberty but I also almost crashed an electric scooter cause of the events from the White Vault

The White Vault because it was the first story I discovered from you, and in all honesty, I haven't taken the time to fully listen to the other productions (but I will!). There's just so much in the White Vault universe to mull over, and the soundscapes you create for it are so wonderfully immersive. (...that and I'm VERY biased for icy deathtrap settings :) )

I have a request, and if this is not simple to do, please disregard: Can you embed the individual podcast artwork into the patreon feed? I'd enjoy seeing Vast Horizons artwork if I'm listening to VH, and so on. Love the work everyone puts into each episode!

I had to vote for all 4 because that is not, as my grandmother would say, "There is not a clinker in the bunch". I love all of them and wish you could produce them faster, but I understand that there is a lot of work to put it all together. So thank you for all the great work. It would be fun to do an audition to be a NPC.

Just full disclosure, I voted for two... Because I was able to vote for two. Also, I think I chose the White Vault because I could "feel" the cold despair of the characters, which was a nice change since I'm living in sweltering hot Texas.

It’s my opinion that voting for more than one choice should be an option... :-D
