Hi, I'm new here but absolutely HOOKED! ❤️ Having just listened to season 1-3 and Artifact, my brain alarm started ringing at the mention of the tall black statue in the village 😂 As a polyglot I'm in love with the fact that you actually have native speakers record lines in their respective languages! Also, the entire world building is fantastic!!! 🥰
Glad you're loving it :) This was SO much fun to make!!!
Is there a copy of the transcripts for the full season of Imperial? I found the full season for all the others, but only the episode transcripts for this one
I updated a ZIP file here that has all of the transcripts in a single ZIP folder. We never compiled them formally, but the PDFs are all there
This was fantastic, so happy to have heard from Liu from before season 3, really fleshes out the mystery these people not in the know are working around.
Hey, Fool & Scholar, I may be a little late to the party having heard about you fairly recently and having listened to The White Vault mostly through YouTube. I knew about the Pateron exclusive stories for a while now, but when I found out about Goshawk and that the world is getting really big, I was in. It's my first Patreon experience and if all the creators here are like you - it won't be the last. :) As a fan of Chinese and Japanese culture, Imperial was amazing. I even found something from Father Paul Dure from Dan Simmons's Hyperion Cantos series in Father Martin and the tribe sounded a lot like the Bikura tribe from the first book. You are amazing, the world is amazing and actually I'm pretty hyped about being "late" - it means I have that much more story to catch up with. Thank you!
So glad you made the jump and now get to experience the full (expanded) story! And it's certainly a benefit to show up late, rather than never!
This is such a great format to listen in. 💜
Who was the body found in the mud slide ? 🤔
...perhaps a certain illiterate assistant...
When he said “the drums sound of heartbeats” I was like …😬 I know something you don’t knowww
I don't know if you've watched Hazbin Hotel, but I read that in Alastor's voice 😂
s3 Dr. Zhou "Did you get the documents, did you review the documents, have you seen the documents?" Me: "HAVE WE? WHAT DOCUMENTS I WANNA KNOW" and now I know. So worth (the vault has me)
Hi! I’m new, so forgive me for asking something I’m sure has been asked before, but between the White Vault and the 3 associated mini series, is there a specific chronological order in which they should be listened to? My son turned me onto the White Vault and I’m hooked. It’s so fabulous! Thanks for all your hard work and effort❣️
Hey Shari! Welcome and thank you :) (I hope you got our video this morning as well in your inbox) We recommend: S1 - Artifact S2 - Imperial + Musical S3 - Iluka S4 - Avrum S5.. And when you get to a cliffhanger about "finding a recording device," (ep 7 or 8?) listen to "The White Ault" ;)
The research that must have gone into this is astounding. Really quite foreboding storytelling after listening to The White Vault 1-4 beforehand - but top notch storytelling once again and another fabulous cast selection. I can't stress how enjoyable it is listening to so many different languages!!
Sooo much research :) We'll have more to share with you soon! We're doing a behind the scenes for one of our miniseries.
Finally a contributor! Thank you fool and scholar! Particularly, I want to thank you for the post season versions where all of these are put together as a single tale!
We're glad you're enjoying everything :)
So did I miss the window for discussion on this? Fan theory time?
Not at all!
Kaitlin - I really appreciate your attention to detail and accuracy of cross-cultural characters. I wanted to be a cultural anthropologist just so I could study other cultures for a living, but it didn't work out. I also appreciate the use of a stamp and authentic script for the logo. Ironically, not long ago, I started carving a stamp to use in my Chinese brush painting so this is the perfect show to listen to while I work.
Im about to binge the heck out of this
Hi, do you have any plans to release the scripts for Imperial at some point? I do find it easier to have the script to hand when listening. Many thanks!
Sorry for the delay! They're now available on the PDF /TRANSCRIPTS tabs :)
(Travis) The historical elements also make it one of my favorite stories we've done, maybe my favorite, period.
Thanks for putting these all together!! The tension is much more palpable when listening in one go. Also, picked up more information on those ...spirits? creatures?... that I completely missed in earlier re-listens. :O
Oooh. Season 1 as one go, and season two as one go? That would be wonderful.
Okay, so I tried to do this but it's actually a lot more complicated than it's probably worth. We don't have credits between the 15-35 minute episodes (so benefits are pretty minimal for a supercut), and doing a seamless cut from 1 to 2, 2 to 3, etc, requires a fair bit of dialogue and music editing to feel organic. Probably 6-8 hours of work per season, which we could use to create a whole new short story. I think it's a cool idea, but to do it right is not in the cards at this time, as I could finish a Dark Dice or edit another 2-4 episodes of similar complexity to Imperial.
Would you want a supercut of seasons 1 and 2 of the white vault? That'd be pretty long... season 1 / 2 as 1 file?
Not that we're aware of (beyond the 'Ashore' live show), but we did make a few changes to the first few episodes of Season 3 when we swapped out our actress for Dr. Ureta around December 2019.
Absolutely loved having Imperial for a re-listen in one go. Any chance you could do the same for the previous seasons of the White Vault? Keep up the great work!
