Too soon haha. The tappy taps were a nice touch - like a car hijacker using a gun muzzle to attract the attention of his future victims - a monster using the last vestige of civility rattling around in its brain to invite itself in - that's somehow much worse than a 'here's johnny' trying to break down the door because if something is exactly like the protagonists then it can't be a threat and if something is completely otherized then it's black and white - which can definitely work but when the enemy has this ambiguous quality in between which can be unsettling - it's human nature for the listener to go into a hyper mode of Tribe Detection to ferret out the situation to discern whether there is a threat and it's a sort of sweet spot to create tension.
