Production Delay: Sealskin Rock
There's no easy way to word this, but it's been a difficult month for us.
In addition to some personal & health issues that have drastically reduced our productivity, the added work for tax season, and dealing with German immigration, one of our key employees (our co-sound designer) was forced to resign. This was due to personal life changes in his family and them needing to make adjustments in their lives. We're still friends and he will help us where he can, but the additional (substantial) workload from this person resigning, paired with the other issues, has put us in a difficult situation. Eezo also had two surgeries since our last update. He's snooz'ling and recovering, and should be cleared as being "in good health" tomorrow.
As of today, we're not technically "behind" schedule from the public's perspective, but we're certainly not as far ahead as we'd anticipated being in our last (more optimistic) update. This perfect storm of events leads directly into a trip we've planned (and delayed yearly) for 5 years - where we'll be gone for 2 weeks, and not able to edit. It will be an exciting trip, but our minds have been understandably on our release schedule, which has prompted this post. We've talked about work-life balance before, and about how it constantly evades us, but please know we are working hard to get things done.
Thank you so much for your support and patience. Dark Dice will be still be releasing on schedule. The White Vault: Goshawk (S2) is still scheduled for October. We look forward to sharing a few exciting (and more positive) stories and updates with you soon!

Thanks for asking :D All platforms are good for us and pay us identically. The one that works the best for you is the best for us. A few add their own ads on top of our show, which we don't benefit from, but I'm not sure exactly which those are.

Just wanted to echo the comments above and say that I wouldn’t be able to enjoy your stories if I knew you guys were grinding yourselves into the ground trying to push the releases out like you described. Real life takes priority over everything in the podcast universe - besides, if you guys don’t take care of yourselves, you won’t have enough energy to take care of that sweet little good boy!! Plus, when creators feel trapped and tortured by the work, it shows!! It gets infused into the final creation. Your art won’t feel right to the audience if you hated making it.

Prioritize your work life balance. You eventually get more done when you don't burn yourself out and nobody should work themselves to ruin. Take the trip, push the release back. Quality of life over quantity of content.

I agree with what everyone else has said - take the time you need. If you need to cancel a series all together, or go to a once every other year release date to open up your schedule that is fine. After all, it will decrease the likelihood of you getting burned out. Now go be amazing and I’ll go and figure out how to follow my own advice. ☺️
I'm sorry for all your hardships. I hope you're able to recover well and that life gets back to a semblance of 'normal'. I still believe in the quality of your work and hope to continue listening even with occasional delays. #stayingfaithful
Doing a podcast is a load of work. We understand that life, health and happiness is a priority. Don't rush, enjoy life. We'll be there when you come back and we will still support you 2, and Enzo, in your endeavors.

It sounds like you have had a rough spate of challenges all at once. Definitely do the things you need to. Losing someone from a team always creates load and schedule issues.
