New Launcher Update - Download a day early and help us test
Hey everyone,
As part of our reorganisation process we have also worked on developing a new way of file downloading for the launcher. This new file system allows us to deliver the game in a similar way as major platforms such as Steam do it. This allows you as users to download the game on a file by file basis, which means all future updates downloads will be smaller.
Additionally if your game has issues, or some files may have been deleted, you are able to repair and verify your file integrity from the launcher itself. We have decided to release the launcher a day before the CK2 Ep2 Patreon release to make sure that any unforeseen issues are fixed before the release.
The new launcher version will be in Beta for a few weeks. The old version of the launcher with old download system will remain active until November 31st, after that it will automatically be updated to the new version for all PC users, while Mac users will have to redownload the latest one and update manually.
The new Episode 2: The Pool Party update that comes this Friday release will be available on both versions of the launcher. We recommend that you download the new launcher and try it now, and before installing it please uninstall the previous version of the launcher to minimise any potential issues.

Can't start the game.. after downloading from the launcher and clicking "Play", it prompts me for my computer password then does nothing.
Can't get the log in confirmation to work, but the info is right and after the allow or deny tab, it just goes straight to a white screen. so now the only way to get the pool update is either wait for it on steam or pay another $20, this is bullsh*t.
if you are talking about patreon login. reset the password. worked for me. has to do with using google equivalent login or something similar
talk about a bug ridden mess. none of my save route games work, you are either pushed back to the start of the CK2 as you land back home or if you do manage to move to the pool party update the game crashes as soon as you try to read Amber's text.
Is this your first time? The first few days of launch usually have some bugs to sort through. It will be fixed fairly quickly as Steve and the team do address these things pretty quickly.
As many already said, preferences cause an error. I was able to load an old game and play and was able to start a game from the builder.

My Issue with the launcher is that it sets both CK1 and CK2 as 1.1.6 and CK2 gets errors trying to use preferences menu, loading any saves and going back to the other launcher, has the same issues.
only had one issue, after confirming my patreon account the url was a localhost, login still worked, pretty weird tho. download worked like a charm
are you using gmail or did you create a patreon account
I cant log in to my patreon thru the Gmail on the launcher?

cannot login on patreon. click the link at the top, type info in, the login button just continously rotates and hangs. (i assume its the login button as i am never able to actually read it. i can login on this machine on via website gonna try firewall/virus protection but if anyone knows what is going on... i would appreciate advice. So looking forward to the continued story! Thanks for such a quality game and your attention to detail in keeping us in the loop on development!
3 things i can think of in my head that might help, tho you might already tried them: 1. Reinstall the launcher. 2. Problem with firewall/virus (you mentioned already) 3. Restart Your system (click restart not the normal shut down) 4. create a support ticket on their discord for futher troubleshooting. Extra: you can try to launch it as admin. hopefully this helps
Cant change the settings in the game from the launcher clicking setting crashes my game
Launcher ok but the "pref" menu leads to an error on the tutorials/ I deleted the tutorial line in "screens preferences.rpy" and it works perfectly. On the other hand, the ending remains the same, the pool party episode is not yet available
The mac launcher link is broken, it downloads a windows launcher...

Yeah preferences leads to an error, most of the stuff in the launcher works well.
I downloaded the new launcher and all my saves i had prepared are now having loads of error messages, i can't even go into Preferences in CK2. Oh well.
ck1 downloads then when i hit play it cant find the files it just downloaded i am installing on my second drive d:

I am getting this too when trying to download CK2. - EDIT: Correction, it just suddenly finished....weird. EDIT2: Just found out that all my saves are incompatibe, it just causes an error, oh well, back to CK1.
I have never been able to get the launcher to work. It Creates folders but never downloads anything.
How do you get the game then?
Deleted old launcher, downloaded nee launcher, had me download the files, now ck1 is in an endless loop of downloading files due tonan error when trying to load, and ck2 pops up with the error screen after about 15 minutes of hitting launch. Same thing happened before when downloading the old launcher. Deleted all my saved data to get it to work last. Trying not to go that route again. Still havent replayed through CK1 since then
Installed OK for me, but wouldn't let me login to the Patreon account. I tried with another account and it logged in fine, but now auto-logs in and won't let me change patreon accounts. Even reinstalling doesn't fix, so I'm now locked out of the game.
so 2.0.3 now loads up but theres no pool party its still the last part

Patreon login is not working, I logged in with patreon and the authentication would pop up but then nothing happen

I have my games installed on my D:\ drive under Games\CK but the launcher doesn't see them. It installed over the old launcher fine and I was able to log into Patreon, but it refuses to see my installations.
It is recommended that the old launcher is uninstalled first.

Login with patreon is not really working. I get an error message when I follow the activation link on gmail: ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED
I had an error like this also. I use Guardio, basically an extension that protects me online. If you have something similair, try disabling it. I noticed that my antivirus triggered when I tried to install the downloader, so maybe it's just how the downloader functions that seems suspicious to things ment to protect you.
On man I can download it perfectly, but I get an error whenever I try to open the settings. Verifying the files and redownloading did nothing. On pc I can't even get it to download, it just sat on scanning files for an hour before I gave up.
This is a known game issue, an update will be pushed next week.
That's awesome. I deleted the game a month ago due to the client not working anymore. Hopefully this helps.
CK1 is Unable to find game exec. and is stuck in a repair loop for PC

And for CK2, it seems to load fine with new game, but old saves, causes crash
