Episode 6 Part 1 - Delayed to January

Hey everyone, We're currently testing Episode 6 Part 1, and unfortunately we are encountering multiple larger issues that will take some time to remedy. This means that we will have to delay the release of Part 1 until January.

Not only do we have a number of problematic bugs that we're struggling to solve, but we're also unhappy with how a few of the fully finished scenes have turned out and are considering redoing them either partly or entirely.

In the past, we have prioritized releasing as soon as possible and shipped improvement patches afterwards, but this was never ideal. After our last release, many of you have spoken up about the fact that you'd much rather wait to see a more polished product and we're committed to delivering that, even if this unfortunately means pushing the release date back to January.

As we don't know exactly how much work is required for us to make the necessary changes, we don't want to commit to an exact new release date yet, in order to avoid having to delay it any further. Rest assured that we're working our hardest on getting Part 1 to you as soon as we can.

On a final note, we are really pleased with the part overall. There's a lot of awesome new scenes and some really sexy moments. We just wanna make sure that the entire part is the same level of high quality and plays smoothly, which requires a little more time.

Thank you all for your incredible support and the many kind messages we've received over the last few years!

-Steve

honestly I don't mind the Delays because I rather have a game and build that is the best product you and your team can push out vs something glitchy... (cyberpunk 2077 I am calling you out lol)

idk while i agree that take your time does the game better and is easier on the staff, at the same time we went from every what 1-3 month releases to what 6-7+months now and still running into the same sort of issues /delays... And now two weeks later still no update of how its going... let alone same short notices of a delay and anywhere from a week to 2 months of a delay... 1-3 days before a release again..... And its happend more or less every release since 2022. At this point giving you extra time is starting to feel like im just being taken advantage of and your getting in the habit of doing it. for the shortest most blunt way to say it without getting into details. ive more or less been subbed since the first 50-100 people idk if ill keep it on auto from now on its help donations to a business /game now and money talks. while i understand the last week or two for holidays which should have been accounted for. still doesnt excuse the fact double the time has already been going on. if your doing 6 month windows at month 5 you should be close to or doing testing that or more transparency needs to be happening between you and us consumers. its a game we understand there can be delays. but we also know plenty of game devs on patreon that take advantage of people with delay this delay that and get 3-4 months more outta people. Releases NEED a REWORK of how your going at it and the habit of it happening every time def needs to be addressed imo. Best of luck to the staff and You hope the ACTUAL release goes swell.

The release has been delayed again, just three days before the scheduled date. While everyone else has offered words of comfort and encouragement, I feel it’s time to share some hard truths. From what I remember, not once since 2022 has a release ever met the promised date. It has always been delayed by two weeks to a month—and usually, we only hear about it just two or three days beforehand. When we said you should give yourselves a generous development window, it didn’t just mean "take your time to test thoroughly and release a polished product." It also meant stop delaying releases at the very last minute. Yet here we are again—despite the seemingly ample development time, the release has been pushed back just three days before launch. What was the point of a longer development schedule if it ends like this? I’ve been adjusting my entire schedule ever since the release date was announced a month ago. I even applied for a day off on the 19th. I remember back in May, I did the same thing for Episode 5’s release date, only to have it delayed as well. At the very least, I thought this time would be different because you had enough time, and I didn’t expect another delay. But once again, we’re in the same situation. When Fresh Women was delayed for a month just a day before its release, I wasn’t all that disappointed. To be honest, I don’t like that game as much as I like College Kings, so the letdown was smaller. But because I care about this game so much, I can’t help but feel deeply disappointed when you break your promises again. I will try to understand the circumstances and wait patiently for the final version to release in January. But Steve, I believe it’s time for you and your team to truly reflect on the fact that, in the past three years, you have never once met a release date. Breaking promises can become a habit—and it’s one that needs to be addressed. In the future, please consider announcing the release date only when all testing is complete and everything is 100% confirmed.

I agree with you and I add that if the delay notice occurred only 3 days before the release date, it is almost unacceptable that +15 days are needed to solve update issues (especially when we received an update 1 week ago that the development was in line and that we should expect a smooth release) I think it would be fair to have at least an overview of the update (with new renders, a summary of the scenes, or extra renders in the month, to compensate for the new delay).

I’m glad to see you atleast letting us supporters know. I know plenty of other developers that take a long time to give news like this or simply don’t. Thank you for letting us know.👍❤️

Don’t stress it Steve. Thanks for letting us know. I myself understand the frustration of finding a rabbit hole of bugs in a project. Being a developer is tough, but it’s worth it in the end. You and your team are great :)

Hello Steve, it's really, really good that you are listening to your supporters. A release date is all well and good, but it's no good if the result doesn't satisfy you or us. We can see that you're working hard on the update and that's why it's no problem to postpone the release. Take the time you need, find all the bugs, give the update the polish it needs and only release it when you are 100% happy with it. Then we will be too, because it will simply be much better to play. It also takes the pressure off the team. So you can all go into the Christmas holidays relaxed and have a good start to the next year. And then you'll all be fresh and rested and put out a good update. Chloe, Nora, Riley, Linds, Penelope and all the other beautiful ladies deserve that 🥰 I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you and your team a Merry Christmas and a great start to 2025.... but we'll see you at the snowball fight 😅

Thank you, Steve! You broke the pattern of rushing updates that caused problems since the start of CK 2 and finally, we get to see you're perfected version and not the patches, update to an update, and re-works. I am glad you extended the test period to prevent the old problems from before like seeing 85 bug support tickets on the first day of launch, taking 2 weeks to fix bugs. And some bug-related other issues that had people leaving CK when it did not feel like some server staff were attentive to Patrons and new fans back then. I look forward to the new update when you are ready to release it. I wish you well! And happy holidays!
