Retro SEWING MACHINE MOD V0.4
while we wait for the basegame semi active career that in no way steals from EA get to work code, I thought I would get an update up and running for a smooth gameplay of the sims4 sewing machine.
SEWING MACHINE DISAPEARING.
Since there is a number of about six people that had a problem of the sewing machine disappearing, I searched the internet just to find out about batch fixing, subroot and specular issues.
Added specular maps to the sewing machine.
Added a new subroot 1 bone
Updated specular maps to,bathrobe, blue BG dress,Toddler jumpsuit,toddler dress, blue gown. (they did not have any)

SEWING CLOTHES
In order to sew clothes you need to draw the patterns and stock up on supplies like buttons, fabric, zippers and needle and thread, when you draw patterns the interaction will become clickable (check your notifications for supplies needed if nothing is sewed), even then you can totally screw up ,sew nothing and waste fabric, there was a buff for loosing fabric but now a notification appears too, until you become a sensei (AKA sewing skill level6+)you will loose fabric here and there, my mom does too in real life.
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT AND BOOKS
I realized practicing was boring because it was just one shot now there is a flexible length, longer interaction to practice and raise your sewing skill, instead of clicking it like a hundred times, also BOOKS BABY! Your sim can gain the sewing skill by reading books. You will need these in the active career on its way because you will have an agency option to be a whole seller franchise like aliexpress, so ya know... get ten sims reading about sewing and bam you fullfill Orders of a thousand pieces, run a warehouse and what not. (there's five agencies)

The machine can break down and you can upgrade it.
There are three books to read and grow your sewing skill
when you sew nothing aka fail to sew a notification appears.
tool tips have been added to remind you to buy supplies before sewing and draw patterns.
fixed the sewing machine from disappearing for the 6 people.
IF SYMPTOMS PERCIST
this may mean another mod is colliding with the hashes remove outdated sliders.
Exorcise your game. Ozzy's game is destroyed after the update no floor lol!

Hello! I started using this mod 2 days ago; whenever my sim sews and irons a dress, it turns into a glitchy mess. Could you please fix it?
Does this still work in Sept 2026?
hey y'all! the problem persists still :( the machine does show up in buildmode, but when i place it in my home it disappears. Does this mod interfere with anything?

So as great as this mod was in it's glory, it unfortunately is not working. I have been reading and decided to put what I have learned. Would be amazing for someone to take this specific mod over, but I am not sure if that will happen. Sandy ( Around the Sims 4) has a collab for her craft room (#5) that says to wait for Mizore Yuki for the deco sewing machines to be functional. This may take a bit, as Mizore is going through some life stress and trying to avoid burnout as they reported on their Patreon page. Snootysims does have an early access sewing machine that came out a few days ago. https://www.patreon.com/SnootySims/posts/sewing-machine-4-160525797 . Also Syboulette (SYB) has some sewing room items. All of these wonderful modders will be a great edition for our fun. Hopefully they can all do something to work with Daintysimmer's Fashion Designer mod. Happy simming folk!!!
Grumpy also has a the Iconic Modeling Career Mod, I wonder how different the mod from Danitysimmer is, and if Danitysimmer could work together with Grumpy on the Fashion Designer Mod? I'd absolutely love the collab, I could ask her too. Just the sewing machine by ozzy seems not to work, but Jennikitasims on YT told me she actually fixed the mod by ozzy and is also doing spanish translations. I wish I could find her patreon and download her fixed sewing machine Mod.
This mod isn't working anymore it keeps on making my game freeze I'm loading screen
Today is June 2nd and the sewing machine is still disappearing. Please provide a solution to the problem. :(((

This is awesome. As you continue to develop this mod and the career, might you consider the option to buy supplies in batches? The frequent clicking on several different items is a chore. (But I love this mod, okay?!! :) ) As an aside, I really appreciate you sharing your coding adventures and the specific tasks/techniques as you develop. It has encouraged me to learn.
