The Wrath of Mrs. Kwan ft. LinLyn Lue
What was it like to play Degrassi's meanest teacher?
This week, I'm joined by LinLyn Lue, who brought the wrath of Kwan to life on Degrassi: The Next Generation!
We look back on her audition, including one acting choice that completely changed Mrs. Kwan's character arc.
We revisit some of Mrs. Kwan's most memorable moments, including the exploding pen scene, Spinner's infamous "boner," the Lord of the Flies episode, the car egging storyline, and her appearance in Drake's "I'm Upset" music video.
Class is in session... and Mrs. Kwan is taking attendance.

Right!!!
Queen Kwan did not disappoint!🔥We found out that not only do teachers have feelings, but even the actors who play them have feelings!😮Re the outtake of Kwan reciting Shakespeare with Spinner, I saw the whole thing one time - it must have been on YT. It went so far as to have her leaning right up to his face, speaking sultry lines. All you could hear in the background was the sound of the fan blowing her hair. They kept the cam on her as they did a cut, and she laughed nervously and adjusted her hair, while Shane just held his face in a silly grin!
Right?! It was so cool to hear her stories. I'm pretty sure this was her first ever Degrassi interview (outside of the Degrassi 411 guide all those years ago). I'm shocked I had never seen this before. Or maybe, I blocked it from my memory on purpose haha!
Really awesome episode of the podcast with linlyn lue as the guest plus this was the first in person podcast episode ever for the degrassi kid podcast plus alot of things were talked about including drake, the cast during her time on the show as well as about her character mrs. kwan! 🙂🇨🇦❤️
