🤳 Live from De Grassi Street
Yesterday, I went live from Degrassi Street, the real neighbourhood where The Kids of Degrassi Street was filmed and where the Degrassi universe truly began. Being there in person always feels surreal!
During the livestream, we visited Bruce Mackey’s house, walked through Degrassi Park, and got to hang out and chat Degrassi together in real time.
We also left a community gift in the Free Little Library on Degrassi Street, along with a note from all of us so whoever finds it knows it came from the Degrassi Kid community. A tiny piece of our fandom left right where it all started. 🥹✨

Awe so them playing Earl Grey in sports in TNG was a nod to Bruce?? 🥹🥹
As some of you know, I made my pilgrimage to Degrassi St. from my home in Miami, Florida, back in 1994. All I knew was DJH and DH, nothing about the Kids or Bruce Mackey. Degrassi Grocery was still there on the corner! The fact that the show took place in a regular working class 'hood, rather than the typical sitcom street or Beverly Hills earned it HUGE CRED from me!!
